I would be surprised to see Leino get a vote, to be honest. I think it's fairly clear how everyone on LGW feels.
-
Quoted for truthiness.

I couldn't believe it when I saw them on the ice together. It was borderline frightening. I think inconsistent is definitely the best way to describe Ericsson's play. I know he was originally a forward, can we verify that Brett Lebda was at one point, as well? I've decided that's the only way to explain his poor defensive presence. I'm sure I'm late onto this train, but it's still worth noting.

Just saw this thread. I don't have one yet, but am definitely incorporating a version of the winged wheel into my sleeve. It's not going to be the traditional logo, but the idea is most certainly there. To be perfectly honest, unless you're going to a truly great tattoo artist a crisp concise logo with lots of straight lines and hard edges isn't necessarily the greatest idea. Having said that, even if you do go to a great tattoo artist there are all sorts of variables that come in with healing, aftercare, scabbing and the eventual spreading of ink. What I'm saying is, don't be disappointed if it doesn't look perfect - because it won't. There's really no such thing as a "perfect" tattoo. That's just the nerd in me nitpicking, though. Now, having said that, there were some really nice looking ones in the previous thread. Let's see some new ones!

The Wings have one. I remember seeing a conditioning episode of Red Wings Live, or at least an interview, where Kris Draper went through his routines - one of which was to use the skating treadmill.
-
That's Lapointe Stevey's kissing, right? I can't say I remember Koho sponsorship behind the benches at the Joe, but whites were home until 2003/04 (Lapointe's last year as a Wing was 00/01). That's not a, 'no' by any means, just an observation.
-
Though I generally regard the Pittsburgh announcers dumb as s*** - the first thing I thought of was the Draper hit, though obviously to a much lesser degree. I think they could have easily given him 3-5 for it. Even in arguing that it wasn't entirely intentional, it's still a matter of insuring against these sort of things.
-
Yeah, I mean obviously this is just speculation for the fun of it - but with the teams out there that feel they really need or want him, we aren't getting him from Atlanta for youngsters and draft picks.
-
Already the name of a band.
-
A play off of Iwrestledabearonce. It's a band. As long as we're throwing around our bands - check out my old one. We might've been up your alley. MySpace.
-
Based off of the way you described what you'd like your band to sound, perhaps you should call it Iwatchedtheredwingsonce.
-
It's probably already been said, but Los Angeles lost tonight, too - so we're still only 1 point out of the 8th spot with a game in hand.
-
I think this sums it up nicely.
-
It's a licensing issue.

The shot at 6:13 is pretty conclusive, but every thing up until that point isn't worthy of overturning the on-ice call. Perhaps Toronto didn't get that shot? Hard to say, really. Either way, I too am having a hard time getting worked up about it. Not a huge deal, didn't affect the outcome of the game - though you could obviously argue that it potentially could have. But I digress.

I'm not going to lie, I thought that was pretty damn amusing.

I came in to post Yzerman's game winner, but there were plenty of awesome ones represented. Also, Lidstrom's goal from two towns over. And:
-
Quoted for truthiness. Hearing him speak in interviews or pre-game pieces he seems like an intelligent guy, but he definitely goons it up on the ice to make up for it.
-
Would've loved to see him in a Griffins jersey last night. They could've used him.
-
Yeah, I agree with that. We can definitely say that, given the same opportunities, Quincey would still be further along than Meech - just not the same as he is now. Don't even get me started on Lebda.
-
Kind of surprising this move didn't happen sooner. I wouldn't have been at all surprised to see him get it right away, but there are language barriers to think about. Also, I can't imagine how hard it is to strip a man of his C.
-
I'll give that to you, definitely. I can totally see the argument based off of the level of talent that he's showing compared to what Meech is showing us. Additionally, who doesn't know 14 was Shanahan's number? I know that's long-since passed, but c'mon.
-
To be fair - and Ken and Mickey touched on this - Quincey likely wouldn't be the same player he is now if he stayed with the Wings in a limited or AHL capacity. He's thriving within his role on his current team, a role he would not fill on the Wings (a team who isn't built like the Avalanche).
-
I wouldn't go that far, but he's a long way from being a good replacement for Lids. Definitely a shot-first/defend-second kind of player. His style works for the Caps because that's their entire mentality, but I would definitely not want to see him here. And yeah, he does kind of seem like a turd bag. I also totally agree that Howard could be a real Calder contender. He's 6th in Goals Against and Save% while logging more minutes than Tukka Rask and Semyon Varlamov (both of whom rank ahead of him in one category or the other).
