Just posted in the sub forum about this. Great win for these guys. They've played well all season and thrived under Blashill. I hope I can make it to one of the WCF games because they're playing great hockey right now. Closing out a tough Toronto team (that, as an aside, features Komisarek and Tim Connolly) in their house could not have been an easy task, let alone to do so in the fashion they did. They closed out the last round with a statement game and appear to have done the same here. Hopefully the Barons are over-rested, it'd be great for the Griffins to get a jump on them right away.

Great win for the Griffins. They continue to play well, just as they've done all year. I'm very excited for their trip to the WCF. Hopefully I can get a game in. I wish more people were attending these playoff bouts.

You can stay at the hotel with children, certainly. They divide the casino and the hotel so you can access the people mover without ever actually entering the casino. That said, there is a church with a parking lot right next to Greektown Casino where you can park for $5-$10 - if you aren't staying the night. As far as the crowds go - I've never seen Detroit fans start any real trouble, but I'm usually a frequenter of Tigers games. Perhaps you guys can simply remove your Blackhawk jerseys on your way out of the arena? I think you'll be all right, though, especially with children in tow.

I worry about Helm's ability to center the second line. He's a great third line center, but I'd hate to see them lose his advantage by playing him up on the second line. Also, I'd be really surprised if Jarnkrok sees much time in Detroit next season.

I don't blame Prust for being pissed, but he does sound ignorant. I honestly thought MacLean came off like a huge ass last night. Sure, it's a dangerous pass, but it hardly excuses the actions of your player.

Good game last night. Houston scored with 8.5 seconds left in the first and it felt a little like "DOOOOM", but the Griffins fought hard. What a goal by Almquist, too.

I watched a little bit earlier. I was surprised at how much Guthrie looks like Ed Helms in the beginning.

I used to have a few superstitions, but they've fallen by the wayside. I'll do the playoff beard, but it's mostly tradition.

Since I couldn't last year on account of my wedding, I will do it this year. Beard has already started as I always have one. Hopefully it has the chance to get nice and big.

I couldn't find the Operation: Dumbo Drop thread so I'll post here. The first round of emails for ticket purchasing has apparently gone out. I just received mine with my order code and the times in which I'll be able to do so. Having said that, I'm not going. I forfeited the tickets I'd had, so I'm sort of surprised that I received an email giving me the chance to buy again. Regardless, I won't be using my code or purchasing tickets. If there is someone who would like to use it then I will happily post it. Otherwise, it will go unused and simply fall to the next person, I guess, which might be a more fair way to go about it anyhow. Edit: I will need to make sure I can pass it, as well. If anyone is interested, though, I'll check the process out and see.

Sweet Caroline has been associated with the Red Sox for quite a long time. To the point where Neil Diamond went to Fenway and asked if he could sing it live this past weekend.
