The 'positive test' came from an elevated level of testosterone in his blood stream when he gave his sample for the playoffs. It wasn't that they necessarily caught him with any particular substance in his system. Like NFM stated, it wasn't an illegal substance per se - but without knowledge of his medication regimen the MLB had no choice but to make the logical conclusion that the spike in his testosterone was from a PED and not STD medication.

I'm sort of backing through the thread and obviously there is talk of overpayment, since we gave a pick and a prospect. One thing I haven't seen anyone say (and may have simply missed) is that Sebastian Pische was immediately assigned to the ECHL. I know people already stated that there was no way he would crack the Wings line-up, but this certainly reaffirms his actual value and will hopefully put people a little more at ease.

That was AWESOME. I had an event to go to last night and only caught the tail end of the game at the bar. Disappointing for the streak to be so close to continuing only to have it end - but I'm not very upset by its demise. We all knew it would end sooner or later as each win makes keeping it alive more and more impossible. I'm proud to see them hold the record and getting 46 points out of it isn't too shabby, either.

LA's biggest need is offense, can't imagine he'd end up there. I think Kindl is much more likely.

Yeah, I don't think there is any 'decision' to be made at this point - without a doubt he is our 3rd string goaltender at this point and needs to re-focus himself in Grand Rapids before playoff call-ups.

In the comments someone compared his hits to the principals of two cars colliding head on at a high rate of speed - which generally causes both cars to propel upward - I thought that was a great comparison.

Yeah, the new trend seems to be fight-when-you-get-embarassed. I love that Kronwall just goes about his business mashing dudes and isn't interested in doing any more. I think it's pretty interesting that a number of those hits came from this season alone - he's definitely become a lot more physical this year, those hits used to be saved for the playoffs. I was also surprised to hear the use of 'Kronwalled' by a got that wasn't employed by Fox Sports Detroit - I thought was something only we said!

Florida and Washington seriously flip flop every night of the week. That division is so weak right now that you either lead it and sit in 3rd or don't and are out of the playoffs entirely.

I can't imagine any of the proposed trades actually working. Nash is the face of that franchise and if they're going to get rid of him it's going to be for top-line youth. They don't have to move Nash, I'd imagine they're only doing this to see what sort of offers they do get.

I'll be doing whatever I can to buy tickets - including spending entirely too much money on them. My wife-to-be and I already agreed that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and that caution will be thrown to the wind. That said, if we can't score tickets I think we'll still go for the festivities - maybe the Marlies / Griffins game and watch the WC from a bar somewhere downtown.

I'm somewhere between, "that's fine" and "good riddance" on my emotional scale. He was - just barely - a good enough 5th starter but lost all my respect when he melted down at Victor Martinez on the mound.
