I've hung out at the Detroiter, though not around game time. The only pre-game bar trips I make are for Tigers games and I always go to Bookie's on Cass. They offer a free shuttle to Tigers games that you are allowed to take your drinks on, I'd be surprised if they didn't do the same for Wings games.

Disappointing news about Ryan Braun, though a spokesman says there is a medical reason for his test results. I am under the impression that Balester will report to AAA Toledo if he doesn't impress out of Spring Training. He appeared in 28 games with the Nationals AAA affiliate last year and with Coke, Pauley, AlAl, Dotel, Benoit, and Valverde it looks like Balester will have to compete with the likes of Below to earn a spot. ESPN Chicago reports that Aramis Ramirez has agreed to terms with the Milwaukee Brewers on a 3 year deal.

The only sports I care about are hockey and baseball and in both cases I have a secondary, non-rival, team that I root for. In baseball I have the Cubs and in hockey the Sabres. I've got a Sabres hat and a 40th anniversary-style Miller shirt. That said, I'll be at Wrigley this Summer rooting on the Tigers and I'd never want to see the Sabres beat the Wings.

I for one think this is an excellent idea. They talk in the article about how their jersey presence has gone up at games, how season ticket sales have increased; and plus their fans get rewards while inside the arena. Like others have said, tracking is nothing new; and this is about as harmless as it gets.
