I'd link you to capgeek, but every time a team makes a signing their page crashes from views. With Alfredsson taking up $3.5m and Weiss' $4.9m Detroit should have $2.3m left.
-
@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Like the old days in Hockeytown. Great day for GM Ken Holland and the Wings.

I won't complain about $400,000. Nice signing.
-
Filppula helped the club get into the playoffs and the second round. No one was going to give up anything for Ian White or an injured Colaiacovo.

signed Wings sign Alfredsson to 1-year, $3.5m deal (+$2m bonuses)

Yeah, it was. It was the game towards the end of the season where he blew up. -
@DownGoesBrown: I don't want to talk about it. #leafs
-
That'd be great. I'd absolutely love this deal at around $4.5 million.
-
If necessary, teams can exceeded the salary cap until September.
-
@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Wings still waiting to hear on Weiss to see if they got him or not
-
@TSNBobMcKenzie: TOR agrees to 5-year, $21M deal with Bozak.

Isn't there also a cap cushion in place for bonuses? Capgeek lists Alfredsson's $5.5 million contract as well as a $60 million payroll, but shows the Wings as having $7.2 million left because $3 million of it is bonus money. -
He's not on the TSN hockey insider Twitter list. And his twitter profile background has a fake verification mark embedded in it.
-
J Walter Weatherman, is that you? But, yeah. I agree.
-
Far-reaching, it may be. The tweet came through shortly after the announcements of the Clowe signing. Last season he certainly fit the bill of a "bad player on a good team", though I suppose I don't know who the comparison would be to. Carry on.

...When he turns 32?

Nyquist and Andersson will get something in the neighborhood of $875,000 apiece. I'd wager that Smith might get something like $1.1 mil. -
From a numbers standpoint, I'll admit that I misread the charts for 03-04 and 05-06 wherein he played 60 and 41 games respectively. But still, three shortened years in 10 isn't bad.

Re: Clowe? @tsnscottcullen: Apparently it's much better to be a bad player on a good team than a good player on a bad team. #Ihadnoidea

Dreger: Filppula looking for $5.5m/season over at least 7 years

His ability to play the center position isn't directly related to his wingers. Plus, how is Franzen "barely top 6" material? -
Dan Cleary watch, you say? Found it.

Pennsylvania's new state motto. @capgeek: #NHL #Penguins down to $750K in cap space with three roster openings. http://www.capgeek.com/penguins/%C2'>
-
With the exception of last season he's played at least 74 games a year since being a full time NHLer. Injury prone he is not.
-
Clowe is getting his Scrooge McDuck on at this very moment.

His record was indicative of the team in front of him. A Mason / Emery combination is a recipe for disaster in Philadelphia, seeing as they eat goaltenders alive there. That said, should we create a catch-all thread for these signings?
