I'll be sad to see Ozzie go, but it must be time. I have a feeling that this has a lot to do with last year's injuries, which is a tough way to go out. If his playing career is in fact over, I imagine he'll be immediately moved to the front office.

Ultimately, I want to see more of this: But with less of that shirt. - I'd love to see Nik Kronwall and Jimmy Howard continue playing the way they did in the playoffs. - Contribution from Ian White as the 4th d-man. - Ericsson becoming more aggressive. - Us freaking out less. - A resurgence from Hudler. - A healthy and motivated Johan Franzen. - The continued progress of Helm and Abdelkader. And a lot of what others have already said.

The first two games of the series were really frustrating, but it's nice to be tied for first again with the Sox 4 back now. Hopefully the Tigers can keep from skidding here and make a real push through the second half. Really happy that Guillen is back and I hope he stays healthy, we desperately need some stability at 2B and he will bring that. Inge must be on the ropes or something, two days off to start the second half? That's not normal. I imagine the Tigers are looking for 3B options at this point.

That would be so awesome. I used to always imagine that if hockey was like wrestling, a player would fire a puck into his own net in a tied playoff game - removing his jersey to reveal the opponent's sweater.

None of the guys listed are top-4 defensemen, but we already knew that there weren't any left. Is there really a need for another defenseman, though? White would be perfectly capable as a 4th guy paired with Lidstrom.

For my money, I see the pairings (in terms of ice time) as: Kronwall / Stuart Lidstrom / White Ericsson / Commodore Kronwall and Stuart can be reunited as our strongest pairing. Lidstrom gets the right-handed shot he needs, and Ericsson is the offensive d-man in his pairing while Commodore shows him how to use his size and adds grit.

I had read that the Wings were in on Vokoun in the Freep, and had assumed basically what was inferred here - Vokoun wanted to go somewhere where he might still be the number 1. That place was obviously not Detroit.

That's the fundamental difference between Inge and Raburn, though. Inge is a solid defensive 3rd baseman who balances Jhonny's lack of range and exceptional plate prowess. Raburn just sucks. He's horrible in the field and streaky at the dish. Hopefully Guillen can come back shortly after the All - Star break, even though he's made of glass. If he can just field his position and hit .270 we'll be better off.

That'd be great, but limited experience with Insider seems to point to it being a sort of crapshoot.

Inge is better at 3rd than Raburn could ever hope to be at 2nd, though. Neither one of them can hit.
