Shouldn't be a surprise that the guy who signed Campbell to that disgusting contract is the one taking it back on. Maybe it will turn out that Tallon's firing was all an elaborate ruse for Chicago to have a place to dump bloated contracts.
-
I basically came back to say this. A 2nd isn't too high when you consider that. It's not just rights once they nail down a contract.
-
I can't think of anyone obtainable that I'd want from Montreal in place of Hudler. I'm okay with the 2nd pick if this draft class is really as weak as people are saying. We already have 2 now that we traded down with Ottawa.
-
Being that it's only a 2nd rounder (in a weak draft pool), I am totally on board. I didn't realize the terms when I posted my previous question. Keeps him from being shopped elsewhere by Montreal. Pierre LeBrun says it's Rostislav Olesz He carries less than half of the cap hit of Campbell. Looks like signing Sharp is a certainty.
-
It's also a preventative measure, as the Canadiens are the ones who are looking to shop Wiz's rights for a 2nd rounder. If Montreal is going to expose him to the trade like that, then the Wings need to do what they can to make sure he ends up here. The asking price isn't steep, either.

Do it, Kenny.
-
Are they really that pessimistic about signing him in 7 days?
-
Per TSN, Brian Campbell has waived his NTC to go to the Florida Panthers. Still in the works: LINK
-
Yeah, I don't know who we're sending to Minnesota in a similar package. Clearly, the Wings have other plans for pursuing defensemen.
-
Woow, big move. Top 4 D-man for SJ, top 6 forward for Minnesota. Good move. I have no idea who Charlie Coyle is.
-
Troy Brouwer to the Washington Capitals in exchange for the 26th pick. Pierre LeBrun just retweeted this about Robyn Regehr.
-
Corrected himself to say that he meant Malkin to Toronto.
-
Same. After the progress of the Carter trade yesterday, it would be an enormous step backwards. The only reason I said it doesn't mean much is because Edmonton's GM denied the Smyth trade shortly before it happened, too.
-
Apparently those are the real deal. This was tweeted from the draft. http://twitpic.com/5gbi15
-
Apparently Columbus' GM denied it on TV. Not that it means anything.
-
Haha. There have been times over the last couple of years where the Griffins show the 'Sidney's basement' Reebok commercial. As such, people booed the commercial mercilessly.
-
I'm booing you through the screen.
-
As in Brian? But he's a leeaaaddeeerrr. That'd be kind of a backwards move for Columbus, no? Pretty big contract to undertake.
-
Flyers are gonna keep Boucher over Bobrovsky? The idea of that alone is surprising to me. Rumor or not.
-
If Kindl gets traded we need a 6th defenseman.
-
Getting rid of Kindl means we need yet another d-man.
-
Really, really tempted to get some guys together to make the trip for Sparky's number retirement on Sunday.
-
Will the back of his jersey say Peace or World Peace?
-
I don't see Holland doing that. Filp is bigger trade bait, but I think he's more valuable to us than his market value.
