Up until the Finals I expected the Canucks to roll and was pretty all right with it. After the complaining, the guarantees, and Luongo going after Thomas - I was thrilled to see them lose Game 7.
-
Congrats to Boston. The antithesis of the Canucks. Just as Thomas is the antithesis of Luongo. Great job, Timmy.
-
Hockey: Datsyuk Ovechkin Still playing? Thomas. Baseball: Verlander Cabrera Pujols Tulowitzki

You're right. I see it now!
-
This. Especially after this Edmonton debacle that he's been entrenched in.
-
Or some other free agent addition. We've already got one "successful KHL'er" on board - we don't need 2.
-
I will eat my crow now. I guess the scenes of Seabrook, Avery, etc. led me to a misinformed stance against him. I am happy to admit I was wrong. Now, someone get rid of WizWear.
-
HOW MANY TIMES AM I GOING TO HAVE THE USE THE DO NOT WANT DOG THIS MORNING?! Really, though, I'm with Stevkrause - he'd be taking a spot away from someone more deserving / more desirable.
-
No thanks. Not at this stage of his career.
-
I was on the phone with my Dad yesterday afternoon and he said simply, 'Verlander's pitching'. Which got me thinking about the stories he has of Morris and Senor Smoke and the '84 Tigers. Someday we'll be telling the next generation about Verlander.

JV dominates. Tigers take sole possession of 1st in the Central. + 1 GM

Agreed on all accounts. Scherzer alone was worth the trade; throw in Jackson and - to a lesser extent - Coke and Dombrowski looks real smart. The White Sox worry me a lot more than the Indians do at this point, but this is a huge series.

Blew out his knee. http://osherpanews.blogspot.com/2007/12/wisniewski-fought-himself-into-knee.html
-
Agreed on both accounts. Safe to say that this offseason will be the exact opposite of last.
-
Agreed. He deserves to end his career with dignity. I definitely see where you're coming from.
-
Yeah, I was sort of bummed to read that the Wings had increased their offer. At this point, I think I'd rather see that money go elsewhere. I'm also softening up on the idea of Wisniewski, I'm not against grit - I'm just not for boneheadedness. I imagine he'll curtail whatever he's got left in him, though, once he dons the Winged Wheel. And someone will have to put an end to WizWear.

A 400 pack of mediocre defensemen.
-
More than half is pretty good. I'm not saying he's not a good ballplayer, but Yankee Stadium definitely helps. I'm happy for him and all, but he plays for the enemy now - so I can't pretend like I'm that happy for him.
-
@TSNBobMcKenzie Now hearing Senators will make formal announcement on Paul MacLean as new coach tomorrow.
-
Must be nice to play on a little league field. Scherzer threw well last night and the Tigers gave him plenty of run support, too. 0 GB - tied for 1st.
-
If we're adding secondary scoring through Wolski, I don't see where we have to swap him for Hudler - unless it's a trade situation.
-
Draper has already said that he doesn't want to go through what Maltby did last year, I'd sort of assume that scenario would fall to close for comfort for him.
-
I'd give Wolski a shot, we've all seen what he's capable of and - while he's been on a number of teams - you can't blame a guy for not producing under Tortorella.

Huge to win both of those road series. Tigers are 1 road series win away from last year's total. Great bounce back game tonight, especially considering last night's flight. Tigers are now 2nd in wins in the entire American League. Indians were idle tonight. 1 GB
