    Very Sad To See

Everyone talks about how the Wings need to get younger, now is that opportunity. I'd like to see Lids stay, because he's obviously still in a class all his own; but I feel like it's time for the others to move on.

I had nothing to do with this, but it's awesome.

Life would be a lot easier with a better bullpen, but the bats have to start working.

Per Bill Daly - Salary Cap

Rafalski's retirement makes this a lot more interesting.

I don't even know that Coke needs to come out of the 'pen as a lefty specialist. He's a great middle reliever capable of pitching almost every day if need be and that is what this team lacks. If they don't get a quality start from any one guy in the rotation then they're in trouble. Pereth (Perry / Schelerth) is absolutely worthless at this point and Benoit is having issues. If we could hand the ball off to Coke and follow it up with Alburquerque, Villareal, and - on a limited basis - Benoit (until he improves) before giving it to Papa Grande then I'm much happier with this team's bullpen.

Is he in time out because of that knock-off jersey?

Yeah, I was reading that today on Bless You Boys. I had already called Coke back to the 'pen; but I didn't think it would happen so soon. Benoit is (obviously) not worth the cash to this point and Coke's middle relief was so important to the team last year. If we can call someone else up to shore up the rotation as a 4th start, then Coke should go back to the 'pen. I'd much rather see Coke in middle relief with appearances by Villareal and use Albuquerque as the set-up man until Benoit figures out what's wrong. Perry and Schlereth can take there Wolf Pack thing elsewhere for all I care.

LINK. It was also just reported in SportsCenter.

    Hey, it could be worse...

My cousin is from the Bay Area and apparently they now hate Nik. He texted me relaying his hope that Clowe would level him and Eager would fight him.

    Hey, it could be worse...

The Sharks still choked, someone just gave them the Heimlich.

Right? I feel like sometimes people just know it was supposed to be exciting so they say it was. It was a slushy mess of a game that they continually tried to inject excitement into.

    Who Stays? Who Goes?

I selected Draper, Joey Mac, and Ozzie. I would love to see us solidify a goaltending tandem in the off-season. I didn't select Salei, but I imagine he's gone given the development of Kindl. I think Ericsson only stays at the right price, though I wouldn't mind seeing him leave in the name of a more talented D-man. I've wrestled with Drew Miller and whether or not he should stay. He's a solid defensive forward and a part of the PK, but we also have Helm, Abby, Eaves and could have Corey Emmerton up here for less.

    Hey, it could be worse...

Our team could have been swept out of the second round in a fashion that would make all the talking heads discuss our team's age and how their time is over. And we would've had to hear it all Summer long. We also could have never seen games 4, 5, or 6.

Thanks For the Great Season, Wings!

Great season, great series. Good game even, but the Wings had their chances. I'm proud of this team despite the loss. Amazing comeback, even if it wasn't quite complete.

Indeed, his bat finding life along with the Tigers isn't a coincidence. Another big win today. Sucks to give the lead up, but it says a lot for them to come back and win late. 2nd place in the Central now, too!

    Homer wear #15

He switched in March of '98 because Dimitri Mironov wanted 15.
  18. Touche. Another update. Happy's ditched the helmet, too.

    Play Datsyuk and Filppula together!

+1 for this guy. I smell it. And we can't bench Cleary, he's now due. After the break away, missing the empty netter, and fanning on the Brett Hull-like one-timer. He's due.

    Howie and Howe

Just watched that on Facebook and sent it to my Dad. Amazing. Can't blame Jimmy; but it also shouldn't go unnoticed his appreciation for having Vladdy in the room prior to the game.

Yeah, here's hoping this team continues to play up to the potential we all saw before the season started. Satisfying beat down of the Twins last night to make it 7 of their last 9 and 4 straight.

I saw absolutely 0% of the game on Saturday and didn't find out about it until after the fact, but that's okay. One of my diehard friends was actually in attendance and I'm really happy for him. JV is an absolute horse and the definition of an ace. I thought Leyland was being hyperbolic in Spring when he said that Verlander / Scherzer could match up with any 1-2 punch in baseball; but they're making him look smart right now.
