Sorry, I hadn't seen this. It was a Large; but I sold it. Thanks for looking! I'll remove it.

Didn't they do the same exact thing last year? Treading water for years before finally getting a taste of minor success often leads to undeserved cockiness. Kiss the rings, *****.

Two strong games against the best team in baseball. Excellent showing for our Tigers!

Is this the same Mike Babcock that's making Salei play for a spot against Kindl?

+1 for ****** canoe.

Good for them. Marc Crawford is ultra ******. Not terribly surprising considering how far they fell throughout the course of the season.

From the Wild: The second head coaching tenure in Minnesota Wild history has come to an end. Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher has announced that Head Coach Todd Richards has been relieved of his duties effective immediately. The decision was made known Monday morning, the day after the Wild concluded Richards' second season as bench boss. The 44-year-old coach posted a record of 77-71-16 after taking over for Jacques Lemaire, the only other coach in franchise history. In both seasons, the Wild was in playoff contention through the winter, but both seasons also ended without playoff appearances. “I would like to thank Todd for the hard work he provided to the Minnesota Wild organization the last two seasons and wish him the best in the future,” said Fletcher. Further quotes from Fletcher regarding the decision will be posted shortly. LINK: http://wild.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=559171&navid=DL|MIN|home

Jackson got the day off because he's hitting below the Mendoza line. He spent the morning working on his batting stance and pitch selection. The Tigers are bumming me out. There is no reason this team should be 3-7 right now, especially given the solid outings they've been getting from the pitching staff lately. That was supposed to be our weak point, not run support. I went to the game Saturday and was actually watching Bruce Chen's ERA drop with each batter. Unreal. Bruce Chen sucks and the Tigs made him look like an absolute ace.

I couldn't. Smith will be solid, but he's not NHL-ready and certainly isn't playoff ready.
-
Really good song, kind of makes you wish he was a native.

I always have a neatly kept beard but, as always, I'll be letting it go for the playoffs.

Are you looking for this one or this one?

Going down in a blaze like we all expected him to. Tough loss for the Tigs today, Coke pitched great after that early trouble. Retired 13 in a row at one point. This team needs to be able to put enough runs across the plate to win games like these. Great time none-the-less, even if it was way colder than I had anticipated. So much for the mid-50's, haha.

It does my heart well to see that. Last night's bullpen collapse was infuriating, but the Orioles do currently hold 1st place in the East.

Nice. Yeah, the weather report looks promising - I'll be sure to add it to the list!

Oh no, not hardly. Nice to know he can swing the bat at all, though, haha. That's the kind of offensive production this team should be able to deliver every day, obviously it won't happen - but it needs to occur more often than it is currently. edit: I'll be in attendance on Saturday! Heading to the D early to knock a few back beforehand. Any recommendations? I was thinking of going to the Detroiter.

Agreed. Throughout December - January they looked like they could beat anyone on any night, but every other month of the season they've looked uninspired and rather weak. I wasn't too receptive to the idea of replacing Curt Fraser early in the season, but now you have to think that they'd respond to a change. The team has too much talent to be floundering the way they have. In my experiences watching McCollum I sometimes find myself wondering if he really has the drive or passion to make it. It seems to wane.

Unreal. Kids playing for his job, eh? 5 RBI and 1 SB. Atta boy, Avila.

Yes.

They've only got a couple of games left, so if he's going to join them it had better be soon. I'd be pretty surprised if he was in net on Friday, since it's their last home game of the year - but I'm all for getting new kids some experience.

Yeah, I read that hand-sign article and was thoroughly unsurprised. After all, their 2nd best player used to tip pitches to his opponents so he could get the favor returned. The Tigers are struggling, granted, but it's still early - they didn't have successful Spring for nothing - and they're playing rock solid teams. The Yankees are the Yankees and I've said since before Spring Training that the Orioles are going to turn heads this year. Their record under Buck last year was the best out of any team in the league in the same time frame, plus their off-season additions have made them legitimate. They will finish 3rd in the AL East. Having said that, they've gotta get the kinks out. This is a team that should have no problem dropping a 6-spot on any team. Hopefully we can chalk it up to the Orioles being really ramped up for Opening Day and get out of Baltimore at .500.
