I'm at work, does anyone have the FSD stream anywhere? Need me some Rod and Mario.

Smith on the AHLs All Rookie Team

He also gets carried away a bit, which is something I feel the Wings will be looking for him to curtail.

    Babcock Underperforming?

I was sort of wondering this earlier. Before Babcock signed his extension, he was concerned about being able to ignite and inspire his players after having been their coach for so long and called a couple long-tenured coaches to get their opinions. I'm wondering if this is exactly what he was thinking about? Babcock was interviewed briefly by Pierre LeBrun this morning for the Daily Debate. Link: Daily Debate

That's on Major League Baseball. They are blackout-nazis. I looked into buying the MLB.TV package because I'm getting rid of cable, but every single Tigers game would be blacked out because I live 'in the market' - despite living over 2 hours from Comerica. The Lions win against the Redskins that broke the streak was blacked out locally, too; but not in Grand Rapids - because we're on the other side of the state! C'mon, MLB.

His defense is solid, though. Plus he's a great clubhouse guy and the closest thing we have left to a Granderson-type when it comes to representing the team well off the field and with local charities and whatnot. Also, from the Tigers twitter:

    OHL

Spirit. I haven't been to a game in years, as I don't live in Bay City anymore - but they're the I identify with when it comes to the OHL. Glad to hear they're doing well this year.

Smith on the AHLs All Rookie Team

I already put this in the Griffins forum, but only like 4 of us are ever in there. Good for Smith, though. Strong offensive showing for a rookie. I'm excited for his further development next year.

Getting your asses handed to you by one of the worst teams in the league is the rule? All right, see you next year, then. I guess I just don't understand the 'pack it in' mentality that everyone has seemingly adopted over the past few months. Every team goes through ups and downs over the course of the season and - yes - it's really frustrating to see the Wings playing poorly and struggling; but I'm not throwing in the towel on the season. What's the fun of watching or following the team if you don't have any faith in them? On my way home from the Wings / Oilers game I was listening to everyone's responses on the radio, calling in saying the win 'was nothing to be happy about' and that the Wings 'should be embarrassed' by it. I'm sorry, but they still won. Yeah, the game was frustrating because the Wings couldn't get anything past Edmonton's netminder, but it was a thrilling victory. I'm with the OP and 55fan. Have some faith, it's a lot more fun that way.

    Smith named to All-Rookie team

He's still too much of a defensive liability at this point.

Nice! Our league was picked based on personal rankings. I didn't get all the way through mine before the deadline, haha; but I was able to get VMart, Uggla, Posey, and a lot of really strong pieces. I got Werth, but that might bite me in the ass since he isn't used to being the main man. I think it's apparent that the Tigers were, too. I'll be in attendance on the 9th. Couldn't skip class or get my buddy to play hooky from work.

I was thinking about my plate of crow the other day, actually. I hope he keeps it up, I'm hungry for it.
  18. Bertuzzi's brutal hit takes chunk of victims' ear. http://bleacherreport.com/tb/b8H3W That's the title it showed in my inbox. In the article it also says that one of Versus' bloggers was calling for Bert to be suspended for the rest of the season.

Raburn looked really good in yesterday's game, making Wandy Rodriguez through 12 pitches in his first at bat and drawing a walk. I've softened on the idea of Raburn in the 2-slot after watching that replay. They're sure getting their dick's smashed today, though, eh? 13-3 in the 8th right now. Luke Scott drove in 7.

I think we're looking at: 1. CF Jackson 2. 2B Rhymes 3. DH Ordonez 4. 1B Cabrera 5. C Martinez 6. SS Peralta 7. RF Raburn 8. LF Boesch 9. 3B Inge I love Rhymes in the 2nd slot because he has the speed of a table-setter, whereas Raburn's bat has too much pop to be a successful second-slot guy.

For all the praise Ken and Mick just offered to Jordan Pearce, he's cooled down quite a bit lately. He was 10-2-2 going into Wednesday's game where he let in 4 goals and got the hook, which he followed up on Friday by getting pulled again in a 5-3 loss.

    Detroit signs Nyquist

He is now a pro and won't be able to finish his senior season. Having said that, school will always be there - getting a chance at professional hockey might not.
