It was announced on Sunday that he'll be replaced by Ilari Filppula.
-
Obviously, not surprising. I assumed he'd go for draft picks; but sending a roller coaster pitcher to Arizona worked once - maybe it'll work again.

EQUAL RIGHTS MEANS EQUAL FIGHTS .. Not really. If this report is true then Komisarek needs to get a ******* clue.
-
But if he has to clear waivers again, won't that just be a throwaway? He wore 18 in Ottawa, Atlanta, and Pittsburgh, though. Switched to 81 upon his arrival in Detroit. Looks a lot better in the 81, anyway.

Doug Armstrong is not Ken Holland.
-
Technically, it should be: But we're getting way off topic with the Office rants. I would love to see Nabokov in the Winged Wheel. I'm really high on the tandem of Howard and Nabby, plus he could wear the mask someone already posted! Problem SOLVED.
-
This. I just said to my friend that this is like a poor man's 1A/1B from the '08 Cup run. I think Nabby/Howard is a great 1-2 punch and would anticipate them splitting games the rest of the way. I can't possibly imagine that they'd bring in Nabby and just bench Howard.
-
Says he works for RDS. RedWingsFeed isn't the official Wings Twitter, though.
-
@DetroitRedWings doesn't say anything about it being a done deal.
-
Yeah, per Bob McKenzie - the waiver rule applies to anyone coming over from Europe. Otherwise teams could hide players in Europe until the start of the season.

The Datsyuk and Crosby commercials are Reebok ads, I believe. You're talking about the Dats ones that say, 'Your Move' at the end, right? I know that Crosby 'Empty Netter' video was debated on here a month or two ago. A friend told me about the Ovi one, it was from his trip to Bristol to shoot those ESPN commercials. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpUVJYJQ9dI

Should've met Gordie at a signing, but my Dad thought it was important for me to go to class. He went and said Gordie was a class act, which we already knew. MR. HOCKEY IS WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAN 3RD GRADE!
-
According to @Gordie78, who claims to have a friend working for NHLPA agent Don Meehan - and who was credited by McKenzie with 'breaking' the story, Nabokov has already signed with Detroit. We'll see about that. With Detroit up against the cap, would this suggest Osgood being placed on LTIR? I know I'm opening myself up here, but I don't know anything about the numbers. Can never seem to wrap my head around the CBA.

I'm pretty sure the Pro Bowl is played in Miami now. Also, it seems to me that the MLB All-Star game is the only one that the players really seem to honor. I totally sympathize with what Ignila is going through and spending his time with his family is way more important than any exhibition, even if the game was held in the highest of regards. Additionally, Briere totally deserves the honor - so I think all's well that ends well. Congrats to Briere and my thoughts are with Ignila.
-
I like Eager, even if he gets a overexcited, and was briefly hopeful during the fire sale that the Wings might get their hands on him at a reasonable price. Full article: LINK

If he has family reasons then they're definitely more important than an exhibition game. Briere will play in his place.
-
Are we sure about that? Movies came first, man. And they are still better than the actual team.
-
He's definitely captaining the Blue team. Article on NHL.com said so.

Really not a fan of Larsson's mask, but I like the DL signature he's got going on with the Winter Classic D.

Anyone live in the Grand Rapids area? A new brewery recently opened on Cherry St. in GR and they are churning out very tasty beverages. http://www.breweryvivant.com

Haha, if he skips he's an ******* that deserves to get in trouble. If he doesn't he's a pussybitch.

There are actually reports that Crosby might be symptom-free by the break and would then play in the game. ESPN quoted him as being 'hopeful'. So that sort of puts the nail in the coffin on this one.
