Armstrong was probably telling him how awesome Atlanta's 3rds are.
-
I was actually thinking about this yesterday while watching the '08 Finals. They kept talking about Zetts and Pav were both nominated for the Selke, which got me thinking - 'why not a best offensive defensemen award?' then I remembered that's basically the Norris now.
-
He'll definitely get something for his troubles, especially with him not showing up to Toronto. I love how Milbury sees nothing wrong with the hit on Stuart, but thinks David Steckel taking out Crosby is dirty. As far as I'm concerned, it's just another example of a player 'taking advantage of the situation', Mike.

In their Mike Commodore?
-
It is a 3rd conditional, I believe. If he re-signs with the Stars it becomes a 2nd.
-
That's my first thought, too, but with him on IR - do they roll 3 A's or hand out a temporary C?
-
So who gets the 'C' in New Jersey right now? Elias? Kovalchuk?
-
Dreger is reporting the same: @DarrenDreger: Dallas still seems like Langenbrunner's likely destination. Boston is not involved.

That's awesome, man. Cool that there were enough people willing to put in the effort to get it going. You go to University of Detroit-Mercy, I'm assuming? I found a large number of sites that sell them, actually. They're a little more expensive, but I get nervous when it comes to quality / consistency on DHGate. If you feel like looking around more, you'll want to search Google for uncrested jerseys.
-
So did my Dad, because I'm awesome.
-
DHGate is a Chinese replica (see: knock off) site, just so you know. In this case, I doubt it matters - but it will definitely spark debate. Side note, how many captains does your team have?

Homeless man with "Golden Voice" offered job
Travis replied to dropkickshanahans's topic in Other Sports
Saw a short clip of him speaking, he does have a great voice. It was refreshing to hear him talk about how he made mistakes that landed him where he did. Nice to see someone face the consequences of their actions. Nice move by the Cavs, too, as they have long seemed sympathetic to the economic plight of their region / fan base. -
Awesome to see team hang outs like that.

Who exactly do we own in Soccer? To that end, we have never won the World Baseball Classic and only have 3 medals in Olympic Baseball (1 Gold, 2 Bronze).
-
I know exactly how you feel. When I got mine customized I still had doubts, even though Kronner is my favorite Wing.
-
I vote Cleary. I've always enjoyed wearing a jersey of a 'less popular' player. If you're paying money for the customization, then I think it's cool to get one that you'd be hard pressed to get off the rack or from NHL.com. As much as I love Nick, Zets, and Pasha - I think it's awesome to use the customization to your advantage in that way.

I sort of thought that comparison was widely accepted by everyone already. I've definitely looked at Helm - Abby - Eaves as being a sort of new incarnation of the Grind Line. Obviously, they aren't on a line together; but if I had to compare them to Red Wings of the past it would be the members of that line. Obviously, Abby will never be the tough guy that Mac was - but he definitely fills that gritty, grinding role on this team. The 3 of them work hard in their own zone and create chances by simply out working their opponents - just like the Grind Line did.

I can see both sides of the argument. Like I've said, I could never afford to pay full retail. But like ACallToArms and I have said - if you keep your eyes peeled - you'd be surprised what you can find online. Real jerseys look a lot better than knock offs when you compare the two, because there's always something wrong with them. I could spot knock offs from 30 rows away at the Joe, but when surrounded by true replicas - they stick out a lot. I'm also a graphic design student and have an eye for things like type faces, but I think most die-hard fans would notice. The pure number of knock offs there was actually really surprising to me, but that's largely irrelevant. I think the biggest issue is that the knock off jerseys attempt to replicate the authentic jerseys and it might be less noticeable if they were made to 'match' the replicas. Perhaps ignorance is bliss, but once you know what to look for on a fake I feel like it stands out tremendously.

Minard is still playing solid enough. He's not showing up on the score sheet, but isn't invisible. Johnson on the other hand.. is. There was an article in the 1st issue of the Griffins program (they issue one every few weeks) that discussed his struggles to score since coming to Grand Rapids; but that obviously hasn't changed too much. He was on the ice for one of Pare's goals the other night, I can't remember whether it was the game tying goal or the one that got called off, but I remember when he took the ice being like, 'ooohh yeah, Jamie Johnson. I remember him.' So - quite literally - he's been pretty invisible.
-
I can't say I've ever seen anything like that before.

Exactly. I check as part of my normal browsing every few days. Being that I'm a college student, most of the crazy deals I find I have to pass up - but some are cheap enough that I bite. I just bought one from a guy on Craigslist and am waiting for it to arrive. Here's hoping it's worthy of being posted when it gets here. ACallToArms, I know you collect jerseys - have you seen the 2004 All Star Game Datsyuk jerseys on eBay? Too rich for my blood, but still a hell of a deal!
-
Well, I've mentioned I'm a dark beer kind of guy - so it wasn't freak-out worthy or anything, but it was very enjoyable. That really sucks to hear, though, on all accounts. =/

Nothing wrong with hard cider. I'm not a huge fan of Woodchuck because of how sweet it is. Having said that, I absolutely love Strongbow; and there's a great hard cider mill in Traverse City called Tandem Ciders. If you ever find yourself up there, I implore you to check it out. If you're really interested, they might mail you some. I've heard there's a great mill in Spring Lake, but have yet to make it out there. No worries on the man card as far as cider goes, I was introduced to it in the UK by some local guys that basically forced it on us, haha. I don't know about Mike's Hard, though. That might crumple that card right up.

Right? I was multitasking but still managed to catch two separate occasions where the light came on and the spotlights lit up the crease. What happens of Ozzie gets distracted by the premature celebration and lets a rebound in?

I always figured that it'd be a lot easier to get away with if you lived elsewhere. Glad to see my thoughts were confirmed. My biggest gripe with the Chinese jerseys is that the cut doesn't match the new Reebok style, especially along the bottom. I actually had a Hossa that was fairly passable - especially to casual fans - but the cut bothered me too much so I got rid of it. Also had a knock of Zetterberg, but it was too small and - while the cut was pretty spot on - the lettering wasn't right. It suffered the same fate. I found that for me, it's better to just keep my eye out and spend a little more on the real deal. I was able to score a blank replica off Craigslist for $65 and then have it lettered at SportsK. Those deals don't come around too often, though, so I can't knock anyone for going with a knock off. I could never justify spending the money on an authentic or even a replica at retail price. *bows* That's because SportsK does legit work. Their website might leave something to be desired, but they aren't a knockoff site by any means. Plus, they're based in Michigan - so you're supporting our economy! edit: To reply to HankthaTank.
