They make me seasick.

What the hell is with those pants?! edit: Was too distracted by the ridiculousness of everything I'm seeing to realize that it's roller hockey. No explanation needed. They always wore crazy s*** in those pro leagues.

I'm just sad now.

The whole team is definitely leaving a lot to be desired, but he's gotta shoulder tons of the blame for basically crippling them from a cap stance. Having said that, no one held a gun to Lou's head and made him offer Kovy that ridiculous contract. Watching them struggle so much, though, you can't help but wonder how things would be if he'd signed for a 'reasonable' amount and they actually had more than 5 guys signed to the team.

Nooo way. I think the striped yokes look great. I love the over-sized numbers, too. I think it's a great take on a throwback.

Darren Dreger just posted this on his Twitter:

The Griffins earned their second home win of the season last night and looked great doing it. They moved the puck well, killed off some questionable penalties, and won in pretty convincing fashion - especially since it was 1-1 after the 1st. They carried the play through much of the 1st, but gave up a breakaway goal that tied things at 1 late in the 1st period. The Griffs killed off some penalties in the 2nd and were able to tally another to push it to 2-1. A 2-on-1 goal made it 3-1 in the 3rd before the Admirals tallied another powerplay goal. Despite the 3-2 score and the penalty killing, the Griffins always seemed in control of the game and it honestly made me wonder why they can't perform like this any given night. I've seen them play the Admirals twice this season and in neither game were they able to control the play like they did last night. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

Agreed. x 100000 I wouldn't have imagined us being in the market for anyone, either.

I like that Babcock is generally the voice of reason. In those situations, the coach is (at least temporarily) the face of the organization and I feel that it says a lot about a club when their coach can retain his professionalism.

With Boston signing Crawford, the Yankees have added another year to their offer. Yeah, everyone knew Tampa wouldn't be able to hold that team together, though. They've already made it known to the rest of the league that they'll entertain offers for their rotation as well. Cubs signed Pena, Tigers grabbed Benoit, Red Sox now have Crawford, Soriano is definitely leaving, and reports are coming out that the Cubs are putting together a package for Matt Garza, too.

Admittedly, I was only able to catch a handful of Wings games last year with Larsson I think having the edge in which goaltender I saw more. I can remember being wildly unimpressed with his outings, especially considering the talk about him and his status as a prospect. Perhaps the small sampling wasn't enough to get a real feel for his abilities, but that was the impression I got as a result.

I've never liked Bill Guerin. He spent most of his career playing for rivals of the Wings and it's not like he ever gave me a reason to like him. The incident with the sign was just the icing on the cake. Respect him all you want, but you can't tell me that's not a ****** move. Just like the Edmonton Sun writer everyone jumped all over, no one wants to see someone bash on a city that is obviously struggling.
-
Yeah, it's cocky of him to think he would be the player to change that. Honestly, in the games I saw him play in last year - he didn't show me much. Always seemed to me like a talent whose passion/drive was suspect.
-
Haha, I'm glad that - even with all the lost posts - the overarching message of the thread lives on.

Since the other Patrick Kane injury thread appears to be all jacked up, I guess we'll start a new. TSN is reporting, via the Chicago Tribune, that Patrick Kane will miss weeks with a 'significant injury'. TSN Article

It's just been announced that the White Sox re-signed Konerko to a 3-year / $37.5 million deal. Not that it needs to be said, but this further cements our need for a bat. No one expected Konerko to go anywhere, but this makes it official. I really want to see Maggs return to the outfield, which I've been saying from the get-go. Even before Werth was off the market. I'd take Magglio in right at Comerica over Werth any day.

Yeah, unfortunately, I don't get VS - but it sounds largely like they just fell apart. Defense seemed suspect all game - a shorthanded goal to Thornton and 2 goals in 8 seconds?
-
Same. 16 of which landed in a row.

Thanks! For the compliment and the bout of confidence. The only Wings jerseys I've ever own have been Nike and Starter ones purchased in-store, so I'm really excited about this. I'll take better photos once I get the wrinkles out, haha.
-
My Kronwall jersey came in. Here are some crappy camera phone pictures. It's still wrinkled from being in the box, but it looks great. One of the white 5's is a just barely tilted but you'd never notice since it wraps around the arm. I had a question for those who have had SportsK do lettering before, though. Are the numbers always so shiny? They seem to have more sheen than the standard Wings jerseys. Obviously, my phone's camera doesn't do it a terrible amount of justice - but I just snapped a couple quick ones. The back numbers are shinier than they appear in the photos, but looking at the photos on SportsK's website, that seems to just be how they are.

So, at least for now, Sturm stays put. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=5875455

Enjoyable read. Funny coincidence that the writer chose Ritola.
-
Plain, but they might offer lettering services at a decent rate. I'm not sure. They also sell a number of game worn jerseys, but they're obviously much pricier. They have an end of the year sale after the season on game worn jerseys and equipment if that's more your style, too.
