I just read a little blurb hinting the Wings might be interested in Paul Mara. Probably complete b.s., but I would welcome that dude's beard.

Unreal.

I enjoy a wide-range of beer, but my favorite beer in terms of what's widely served is PBR. I still maintain that, out of the tap, it can to toe-to-toe with most other beers on the market. I really enjoy Founder's and routinely fill my growler with various beers, though my favorite, the Oatmeal Stout can't be put into a growler. I really enjoy Leinenkugel's various brews, too. At the moment, Summer Shandy is my go-to Leiny. I'm also a big fan of good hard cider, and Strongbow has a stranglehold on the mass-market. I went to a place in Traverse City called Tandem Ciders that was amazing, but unfortunately my growler met an unfortunate end before I could drink my specially-mixed cider.

Surprised to see Meech, and to some degree Tollefsen, on there - but we know Tollefsen isn't coming back. Maybe Meech will be part of a trade of sorts? I don't see the team expecting him to fill the 6th, or 7th slot.

The names that jump out at me immediately are Asham and Burish. Though youth isn't necessarily on his side, I'd definitely grab Asham for the right price.
-
I really didn't expect them to trade Byfuglien. Would've been interested in seeing Eager in a Winged Wheel.

I've heard this game is supposed to rule. They've updated the engine and made checks more lifelike with more realistic reactions. Sticks can break this time around, too. Anyone know if this will actually be on the Wii?

The press conference is merely to announce that he will retire someday.

The games are very rarely (if ever) televised.

Yeah, I mean I don't mind because I'm downtown 5 days a week and it's not hard to swing by the Zone inside the Van Andel and grab a couple of tickets. I never bothered with the D-Zone tickets. You can sit behind the opposing net for $10.

Holy s***. I didn't expect the damage to be so catastrophic.

I used to be in a touring band. When we were first getting our bearings about us, one of us would take an entire drive by themselves. I drove for 18 hours once, and two others drove for 24 and 25 respectively. We were beyond stupid to do that.

Haha, best deal. Don't forget that a student ID gets you discounted tickets, too. Bought a flex pack, but won't be using that on Friday games - doesn't make any sense financially. When I did, though, the ticket agent warned me that the price of day-of tickets is going to go up; so make sure to get yours ahead of time.

Friday, October 8 is the Griffins home opener. Who's going?

A friend of mine read a study that said driving tired is equal to driving 'buzzed' as far as reaction time and ability goes. Regardless, the reason for the quotations is not to imply that it isn't true; those are merely his exact words.

I'm really excited to see what Filppula older can bring to the table.

Spain gets upset on the world stage yet again. When are they going to start taking their opponents seriously?

Thanks, Matt!

He's switched to some fancy new type of shoe. Guaranteed to keep him playing regardless of any perceived foot issue.

Quincey's hit at the :55 mark.

You're missing my point. Shout out all day long, I don't give two s***s. I just felt like it was the way he went about it. He simply came off like a turd. Regardless, it's not like I'm staying up at night over it, haha.

See, I thought the mullet was an ironic hipster mullet at first - with the steps and all, but now I just think he's a clueless kid. Like I said, it was the way he did it. I'm not sure if you saw the interview but his response to Pierre asking him how it felt to win the Cup was 'shout out to all my boys in Buffalo..' edit: added quote.

I think I'd take him. I generally adore anyone who dons the winged wheel anyway; but you can't deny what he did for them this season - more specifically in the playoffs. Moving him back to the wing was a great idea. There should be a clause in his contract where he has to wearing his hat sideways and put away the WCW belt, though.

Sometimes, yes. Haha. I respect his opinion and that he doesn't mix words, but I wouldn't be too surprised if that were the case. Yesterday he said, "okay, _____" to everyone who called and said, "it's an honor, etc." to the point where it could've been perceived as annoyance. I usually hate those types of radio-on-tv call in shows, but for whatever reason I love PowerPlay.
