The right way to be a prospect of the Wings

I have no idea whether or not this is sarcastic.

    In honor of Vladdy

I remember not realizing the severity of the situation at first. Thinking it was 'just an accident', so-to-speak. Then I remember the candlelight vigil and the realization that they were most certainly not all right.

Bertuzzi states he will either stay with wings or retire

With 5 pages, I could have easily missed this; but I Ansar Khan mentioned in an article about the potential Bertuzzi signing that he may not only remain at his current $1.5mil - but may actually get a pay cut. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2010/06/signing_todd_bertuzzi_next_on.html Is anyone arguing Bertuzzi at $1mil?

The right way to be a prospect of the Wings

Haha, yes. 4 nights a week I will get my face smashed in to ensure that he's only fighting someone who isn't tougher than him.

The right way to be a prospect of the Wings

Do I need to start going to the B.O.B. and to 25 downtown once Smith comes to town to ensure that he's not doing stupid s***? I'll brave all the flat-billed caps, popped collars and spray tans if I have to.

    Favorite Announcers

I like Doc Emerik a lot and used to love Thorne and Clemente. Olczyk used to rub me the wrong way, but I've warmed up to him. I have to say, for being the 'Hawks color guy I think he's doing a really good job of actually not being a homer in these Finals. I like Ken and Mick, but that's almost certainly due to the fact that I'm used to their calls. What I really like in an announcer is passion and excitement. I want an announcer to scream about a big goal (see: Ryan Kesler's empty netter) and so while I enjoy guys like Hughson, I find him to - generally - be a bit too reserved for my liking.

    Holmstrom signs 2 year extension

I think it's unrealistic to assume we won't be re-signing Bert. If/when we do, there will be no room on the 2nd line.

So much good news filling this article.

Blackhawks song (We love the Hawks?)

What's with the negatives? Are people just giving out bad ratings when they see 'love' and 'Hawks' in the same post? Funny and pretty clever. Good find!

    Griffins 2010/11 Roster

How do you guys keep so up-to-date on the Griffs when you're so far away? I regularly attend games and I don't know 1/4 of the stuff about the team you guys do!

    Lidstrom Signs 1-Year Contract Extension

Ultimately, you'd love to see it in the 5.5-6.25 range - but it's hard to fault any number thrown his way.

    Pavel Stealing Moves From Gretzky?

The difference in pad size is just unreal. Comparatively, those look like his normal legs.

    SCF Game Two GDT

Best. I started following hockey after my Dad made me watch a game in the '95 Finals. To this point, the Hawks have been almost completely irrelevant. The rivalry really flamed out until the Hawks recent resurgence and I can respect them for being a good team. What I'm getting at is that I never grew up with the Hawks as our hated rivals, I grew up with them as a team that we shared a division with who had nice jerseys and would, at times, have some good games with. Kane seems like a turdball, we all know it, but he's also young and dumb (see also: Brendan Smith). I respect Toews, Keith, and Seabrook; and I still like Hossa and am pulling for him to finally get that Cup. If you have to call me stupid or insult me in some fashion then okay, I guess. I'm sure I'm not the only one who shares the same view of the 'Hawks. If anyone's getting riled up about them getting support on here, then just take a peak at this and ease your mind.

I don't think Eaves would be the one to go anywhere, and Miller was a pretty good addition to our Powerplay, all things considered. Regardless, YEAH LIDS!!

    Favourite Goal Horn/Song

The sound effects in between each name when the scoring is announced in San Jose drives me crazy.

Good for Hossa. Can't really imagine he'll find a wealth of goals now, but you never know. You could see the relief. Amazing shot by Eager. Intermission can not come fast enough for the Flyers.

    Hossa

While I give him credit for focusing more on the parts of his game that are currently helping the team (creating opportunities for his teammates, assists, defense) - you've gotta be scoring goals when you're earning what he is.

Blackhawks wonder why San Jose Sharks logo

Original Buffalo logo - the one they replicate with the 'modernized' buffalo now. I mentioned it a couple of pages back - their 3rd jerseys will be their primaries next year, but with a real buffalo.
  24. College sports can sometimes result in an idiotic kind of lifestyle. I won't pretend like he's a victim of the life he leads or some s***, but once he gets to Grand Rapids he'll be surrounded by people trying to make a career for themselves - not dudes going to frat parties every night. I'm sure it will do a lot of good for him.

    Shanny's "Hockey Research Camp"

Well like Shanny said, they have some of the skill sets to get a good view as to whether or not some of these proposed changes or ideas are working. They'll also be excited enough to actually go out there and give it their all. I feel like even some AHL-ers are going to sandbag it in mid-August. Additionally, it's a huge jump from the juniors and college to the pro-style anyway, so why not use kids who are unfamiliar with it as your guinea pigs?
