  1. Mrazek has been great all year. He does let in soft goals from time to time, that seems to be his Achilles heel, but he is a big reason they've gotten so far - with 4 shutouts this post season. I agree that he's not NHL ready, but at this rate he'll be a great successor to Howard.
  2. Your jealous side really sucks. Tough loss, but Syracuse found all the breaks. More weak officiating only made it a worse game to watch. Hopefully the Griffins can regain their form. Everyone played mostly weak games, with the exception of DeKeyser. Syracuse seemed to give them fits - especially the defense. That said, they had plenty of chances late in the first and second periods. They just have to get back to their game and it should click.
  3. The Crunch are talented but dammit do they flop all over the ice.
  4. Bought tickets for tomorrow after the game ended - they were disappearing as I ordered.
  5. That looks like it was barely a hook.
  6. Oof. Crunch don't have any quit in them, that's for sure.
  7. Oh, nice. I hadn't heard that - though it makes sense. Another great video from the Griffins before tonight's game —
  8. Good, cheap signing. I wouldn't have been heartbroken had he left, but it's hard to complain about that minuscule hit given his value.

    Mursak?

He's doing well for the Griffins, certainly. Working hard, skating well, and on a line that competes every shift. He's the equivalent of a AAAA player in baseball, though. Excels in the minors, but not quite able to earn a spot with the big club.

    The CapGeek Thread

So some of these will need to be amended with the Miller signing.
  11. Can I inquire as to what the unpopular rules are? I'm just curious. The most unpopular one I've heard is the enforcement of the 2 beer-at-a-time limit, haha.
  12. Random trivia for anyone who'll be attending tonight's game - it may go without saying but - it looks like Chris Chelios will be there. I just passed him having lunch downtown.
  13. For those in west Michigan, the game will be televised on WXSP. http://www.wxsp.com/dpp/watch_wxsp/where_to_watch_wxsp
  14. Yeah, it sounds like he'll be replaced by Skinner who had been scratched to make room for DeKeyser.
  15. The Crunch looked really frustrated by the end of the game. Lots of slouched players and downed heads. Capped off by their goaltender trying to mix it up with Hoggan after the 4th goal. The guys in that Syracuse locker room haven't been in this position in two years; hopefully the Griffins can continue to push them and take advantage of it. I wish I could attend on Friday. It should be bedlam. I've never been to a game with a more energetic crowd. The "Let's Go Griffins" chant during Syracuse's time out in the 3rd period was unreal.

  17. I was, yeah. He logged a lot of minutes, so I guess to say he didn't look great might come across harsh. It's not that he was bad, but had a couple of miscues here and there. Played a good game, but it wasn't among his best performances. At one point he whiffed a writer and then fell down trying to recover the puck, which certainly wasn't a highlight. But I wouldn't go so far as to call it a bad game. Syracuse pressured the defense a lot, though. I was impressed with their overall play; but the Griffins stood up to the task and played better as the game progressed.
  18. DeKeyser didn't have a great game. But outside of one penalty, it wasn't a detriment. Great game overall. Lots of poise and great effort coming from behind.
  19. Man, the Crunch is a good team. Babcock and company are in attendance.
  20. I've gone to at least one game every series and I couldn't be happier that they'll be pushing capacity. Call them what you will, but it'll be great for the team to play in front of a full house.
