Dodgy keyboard, what can I say The ratings for the NRL Grand Final always outrate the AFL equivilant game with the NRL GF getting higher figures in Melbourne than the AFL GF does in Sydney or Brisbane. And let's not forget the massive ratings for Kangaroos internationals and State Of Origin. The SA NRL team, was that the Adelaide Rams? Their demise owed more to politics and the very insular views of the NSW dominated ARL at the time rather than crowd figures which I believe weren't too bad. Anyway, no need to quibble over who's bigger than who. Aussie Rules and Rugby League are two very tough competitve sports with both having a lot going for them. At least neither are as boring and tedious and unpopular as Rugby union P.S. Are you watching The Ashes?

Shaq is way past his best. He could win in the west with Kobe and Phil on board but he can't even win in the east nowadays. This trade seems like too many moves for a team that wasn't that far away anyway.

The NRL doesn't even compare to the AFL. The AFL is far more populair in Australia and rightfully so. The Western Bulldogs vs Geelong game was quite good, I don't possibly know how you could find it boring, especially when you like NRL.... That's funny, the Victoris football league bigger than the NRL! Maybe in Melbourne my friend but that says a lot about Melbourne really. Look at the TV ratings and you'll find the NRL is tops Here in Britain we get three live NRL games a weekend, the AFL gets one game of highlights on a weeks delay at strange hours.

That's a pretty intense rivalry for sure. People from Barcalona don't see themselves as Spanish but as Catalans and resent being a part of Spain so games with Real Madrid take on another meaning. Still a long way behind Rangers and Celtic though!

Was watching a bit of an AFL game on TV the other day, think it was Geelong v Western Bulldogs. Pretty boring game. The AFL is a long way behing the NRL for quality and entertaining football. Can't wait for the Brisbane Broncos v St.George-Illawarra Dragons game on Sunday

How exactly are they ***? And what rules are stupid that made the game seem boring and stupid to you? You're darn right Ryan Barnes, Aussie Rules is not for the timid. That's what makes our game so great, the hardiness and committment they show each week is awesome. It's the short shorts and the skimpy sleeveless tops

Why do AFL teams have such *** uniforms?

I used to enjoy watching the AFL when I didn't know the rules and it looked a bit crazy. Then someone explained the rules to me and I now think it is a very boring stupid game. I even played it once but I didn't enjoy it.

You have mentioned some good rivalries here guys n gals. But they all pale into insignificnce when compared to the two Glasgow soccer clubs Rangers & Celtic. These two clubs are seperated on religious grounds, Rangers are protestant and Celtic are catholic. This seperation goes beyond just the fans and extends to the management and until the late 80s the players. Neither club would sign a player from the other 'faith'. Aside from the sectarian issues of the two clubs both of them have dominated Scottish soccer for over a century with Rangers winning over 50 championships and Celtic not a long way behind. Every year it is a battle between these two for the championship, this years being one of the closest ever with Rangers winning it on the last day after Celtic blew a 1-0 lead in the last two minutes to lose to Motherwell 2-1 and hand Rangers the championship. The games betwwen the two provide an atmosphere in the stadium that cannot be described and just watching it on TV is incredible. Anyone who has played in these games or just attended will tell you it is like no other. All my family originates from Glasgow so I know first hand the hatred there is between these clubs. I shall leave it at this: My Dad's family left Glasgow when he was a small child in the 50's and moved to Kalamazoo and when he started to follow Notre Dame in his early teens he was almost kicked out the house

Lions for me although I'm not really a fan of any other Detroit team apart from the Red Wings. I inherited the Wings from my Michigan raised father and although he's also a Lions & Tigers fan I had already gone for my home town LA Raiders - don't like baseball but like to see Tigers do well for the old man. Dad isn't a Pistons fan so I have no feeling for them, although as a Lakers fan you can appreciate why I was cheering for them in the playoffs against Miami & San Antonio I love the NFL so am more inclined to see the Lions do well than any other. I also root for Michigan, does that count?

I see that the kid the Lakers drafted is the youngest in NBA history, and with the new age limit in the CBA it may well stay that way for a while. Third youngest all time is Kobe Bryant so he's in good company! I liked this quote from him "I'm compared to Shaq now just because of the body type, but I can hit my free throws."
