The Wings Coaching/Management have commented on it. The ANNOUNCERS on NBC, CBC and VS have commented on it. It's not altogether some crazy conspiracy theory concocted out of whole cloth in the heads of us tinfoil hat wearing sonsabitches.

Confucious ALSO say: Show up to the damned rink in Game 6 and skate like you WANT the Cup, and you won't have to WORRY about the 'stats' or 'history' of Game 7's in the NHL Stanley Cup Finals. Seems pretty simple to me, really....

Well, I'll give you an answer anyway, Miss. Of course you shouldn't expect "logic", for two very simple reasons: a ) Because, young Miss, there is VERY LITTLE in life that is "logical" and b ) The word "fan" stems from the word "FANATIC". Kindly point out the "logic" in FANATICAL BEHAVIOUR, or FANATICAL DEVOTION, if you would. In answer: What the hell difference does it make? It makes a difference because I CARE! Because I see Lids entering the final years of his career, and squandering an opportunity that may never come again. I see the same for Oz. And for Cheli, and Drapes, and Malts. I care because they HAVE brought me joy. Much of it. Do you have children? Individuals you care about? When you see them f*(k up a PRIME OPPORTUNITY, one that may never come again, one that there was NO REASON for them to squander other than carelessness or laziness, or just simple lack of diligence....do you say..... "Ah, well. I sure am sad. What a damned shame. Oh well....better luck next time."? Perhaps you do. I? I cannot. As I've grown older, (and older, and older, and older), I've realized that there is only this. Only today. The past? Doesn't exist. The future? No guarantee of anything. A crapshoot at best. There is only today. This moment. Live for it. Sieze it. Because the chance may never come again. How will YOU feel, watching our boys slumped against the boards, heads hanging in exhausted defeat, as the enemy celebrates in OUR home? Remember Hossa, dazed and disbelieving, sitting spent on the ice? Fleury? Tears streaming down his face? The looks of dejection and failure, of MISSED OPPORTUNITY, painting the faces of the enemy last June? I do. And I do NOT want to see it on OUR boys' faces THIS year. No. Oh NO! And certainly NOT with the prospect of being FORCE FED the Annointed One for ALL of next Season, with image after image of his SMARMY FACE lifting the Cup as a six time Norris Winner looks on in DEFEAT in his OWN HOME ARENA! If the worst happens, the torture will not end after Game 7. It will live on....and on....and on..... In every commercial. In every NHL Promo. In every "Sidney Crosby WINS THE STANLEY CUP", or "The Penguins are the reincarnation of the 1984 Edmonton Oilers", or "YOUTH triumphs over Experience" piece aired during EVERY SINGLE REGULAR SEASON GAME, no matter WHAT Team you root for. It will be relentless. And NAUSEATING.

With all due respect, another "moral" victory. BS. A loss is a LOSS. And I'm betting Chris would be the FIRST one to tell you that, AND to tell you that he'd trade tonight's "spectccular" loss for 5 GA and a WIN! Hopefully they ALL come out better in Game 7. They're going to HAVE to, seeing as they've given themselves precious little choice in the matter. <grumblegrumble>

And AGAIN with the way-too-freakin'-early "XXXX Posts for a Game X Victory" thread.....

Luck tends NOT to favor those who put forth "meh....." performances in situations where great things are possible. It's arrogance. And if providence hates ANYTHING.... It's arrogance. Fortune favors the bold. The Wings had a chance to hoist the Cup AGAIN tonight. THEY. FAILED. TO. SHOW. UP. PERIOD. They weren't "outplayed". They weren't "unlucky". THEY FAILED TO SHOW UP! That is something we, as fans, are NOT accustomed to. And THAT is why some of us are so pissed off. When you have an opportunity such as this.... You DON'T PISS ON IT! "Meh.....we'll take our chances in a Game 7 at Home....."

But. It. Wasn't. There are no moral victories, here. The Cup isn't Won on "could have been". And when you FAIL TO SHOW UP, you're not going to Win many Games in the SCF's. NOR do you deserve to. And the Pens are quite likely to get EVERY ONE of those breaks in Game 7 of the SCF's. The difference? THEY have more than ONE scorer on the roster! Again.... You're talking about moral victories. "It was only close because THEY were so lucky...." The "best" Team does NOT always Win. The Team who WANTS IT MORE, more often than not, Wins. And when the skill/talent level is close..... You'd better DAMNED WELL WANT IT MORE. Otherwise, our boys will be watching Cindy and Genny skating the Cup on JLA ice because they got "lucky" in Game 7, despite being "outplayed". How hard is that to figure out?

It's been said, (and I STILL hold it to be true), that the ONLY TEAM who can beat the Wings.... Is THE WINGS! And that's exactly what they did tonight. And now they've put themselves into a s*** position, after going up in this Series 2-0. This should have been OVER. And now, it goes back to The Joe, where ALL IT TAKES is ONE LUCKY BOUNCE to hand the pens the Championship on OUR ice. You're okay with that? You're okay with the effort given tonight in an attempt to AVOID that sudden death situation? You're KIDDING, right?

Hossa turned down money to come to Detroit so he could get his name on The Cup without having to WORK FOR IT! f*** Marian Hossa!

Ya know.... After this Post Season CHOKE by him.....if I saw him burning alive in the streets.... I wouldn't bother to piss on him. f*** Hossa.

And how desperately do YOU think the League, and Bettman, would LOVE to see that whining, diving little RAT take it in Game 7, at The Joe, after going down 0-2. This is pathetic. It was right there. And they blew it. Once again, like so many times this Post Season, they FAILED TO SHOW UP!!!!
