You don't "stop crime". You "stopped A crime." Millions, even billions, have done it. Millions of people do it every day. Repeatedly. By choice. You know what that makes you? It makes you a human being, as opposed to an animal. Nothing more. Nothing less. Good for you. I guess you ARE somewhat fit to live amongst civilized adults. Although you make me doubt that with each and every post you submit.

Au contraire, mon frere. I don't get "pissed off" at children. They're just a little exasperating, sometimes. That's all. We were all children once. You'll grow out of it. Eventually.

LOL....Congratulations. If true......In all sincerity, you did a wonderful thing, and I'm sure that poor girl is very grateful. However, even a broken clock is right twice a day. So I guess that means you're fortunate. You've got one more "gimme" comin' to ya. Hopefully you'll use it as wisely as you did the first.....

As an aside, this is the second time you've made reference to a "disallowed goal". There was no "disallowed goal". There was a fantastic save on what should have been a goal. The Official on the ice called it a "no goal" because the puck never crossed the goal line. Toronto, with all of their technology, confirmed it. The puck never crossed the goal line. Therefore it was never a goal. Therefore there was never any reason to "disallow" it. And on the GWG, Osgood made the initial save, (shot #49), only to find TWO Stars sitting on top of him in the crease when Daley put the rebound, (shot #50), home.

Please do everyone a favor, and watch the game. Or better yet.....learn the game. The goaltender does not play in a vacuum. These aren't warm-ups we're talking about.... Shot. Save. Shot. Save. Shot. Save. Jebus. Don't kids have curfews and bedtimes anymore?
-
Yes. He did. And his Teammates should be ashamed of themselves for that fact. Osgood is the only reason the Wings skated out of Dallas with a point tonight. So yes. "Osgood Lost" this game. Kindly remember to hold the same philosophy every time he "Wins", which happens much more frequently than not. Also might do to remember that Osgood was better in this loss than some people, (I won't mention any names), will ever be at anything they attempt to do with their lives, "dispite" what you might think. You can take the former point, or you can take the "ladder". Your choice.

I couldn't disagree more with everything you've said. He's not "flopping" like Dom used to. Dom used to roll around on the ice, throwing body parts around, will he, nill he, in order to stop the puck, and then rolled around in the crease like a fish outta water. Osgood's diving cross ice, into a different area code, because his Defenseman don't have the open man covered, so he's forced to save their rears. He had plenty of the "drop down into the butter fly" (???) types of saves tonight. He simply had many of the "spectacular" variety, as well. As for the "ladder" (are you kidding me?) portion of your post, Osgood has always been one of the calmest goaltenders in the League. He doesn't embellish saves, he doesn't make the easy saves look hard. He's always had a habit of making the hard saves look easy. That's the major reason he's never gotten, (nor ever will get), the credit he deserves. I think you need to watch the game again...

Wonder if Babs will put Cheli back in the lineup..... <crosses fingers>

Here's the capper, Sparky.... YOU didn't lose a damned thing! While YOU were at home, in your Red Wings footie pajamas, sipping on your Yoo-hoo! and waiting for mommy to bring you another plateful of the chicken nuggets shaped like little dinosaurs..... The MEN, the RED WINGS, were out there playin' hockey. And with the exception of a very few of them, Chris Osgood chief amongst, they were doing so very poorly. You wanna more active role in the "we" of the Detroit Red Wings? Lace 'em up and strap 'em on, Sonny Jim. Until then, try to remember where YOU are sitting while THEY are Playing. Capice?
-
Hey dude.....not right to Bogart that thing.... Pass, man. Pass.
-
No offense, and I say this with all due respect, but you.... Are a moron.
-
Anyone wanna blame Osgood for that loss? Or the 5 GA? Anyone?
-
I'm not trying to be an @ss. Honestly. It's just that.... It's not so much what you say, it's why you say it. I'll leave it at that.
-
Okay.....just for the sake of clarity, you're saying that Conklin "held them in it all game long" in a game where he saw 6 shots in the 1st, (and let in one questionable goal), saw 4 shots in the 2nd, (and none at all after the 67 footer at the ~6 minute mark), and stopped 12 mostly perimeter and bad angle shots, (5 of which were from ~50+ feet out), in the third, while HIS team fired forty eight quality shots at a goaltender, (and a Team), playing on the second night of back to back Games? You're saying he deserved "at least second star" for holding the Wings in this game, "all game long"? Oh no, puckloo. Whatever you say...
-
Your bias is showing. Conklin was barely tested. Miller deserved 1st Star tonight.
-
Weren't you aware that the fact that Hasek won more individual awards means that Osgood is a crap goaltender? Sheesh! What rock have you been living under?
-
You're right, Ozzie doesn't have loads of "individual" awards. All he's got are a bunch of those pesky "Team" types of numbers. That's probably because Chris Osgood is the ultimate "Team" guy. Good thing for Oz that Hockey is a Team game. What a fortuitous coincidence. I'm thinkin' Chris isn't gonna lose much sleep over it, one way or another.

Not an excuse. A simple fact. Ken Holland himself stated that Osgood had been playing "for weeks" at the level of pain that finally forced him out of the line-up for 7 games in mid-December. Osgood has subsequently confirmed that he'd been hampered with minor shoulder and groin injuries since the start of the Season. The fact that he played so well last Season, and throughout the Play Offs, is a testament to the fact that he's got Game. The fact that he looked nothing like the goaltender who led the Wings to the Cup last year when he began this Season is a testament to the fact that there was something wrong. The fact that he came back from the groin injury as strong as ever is a testament to the fact that what was "wrong" is now right. The very minor injuries, (as I surmised at the time), were exacerbated by the fact that the moron was attempting to break in new equipment....in a rather unconventional way.....by switching back and forth between equipment, wearing one set for practice, the other set for Games. Regardless, he appears to be back on his Game. (Knock on wood). And a good thing he is, too. Because the Wings are going to need him in the Post Season.
-
Either that, or finally recovering from an injury that's apparently been hampering him since the start of the Season..... <shrug>
-
His confidence was his problem. Unfortunately, part of his lack of confidence was lack of confidence in his equipment. He was throwing the Brian's glove out there, expecting to make the save, and pucks were rolling off his wrist because the Brian's glove has a completely different cuff than the Itech glove. Same with the blocker manufactured by Brian's. The differences are slight, but they are dramatic. Parts of the Itech equipment which he's grown accustomed to using to deflect pucks off to the corners are completely absent in the Brian's equipment. Instead of pucks deflecting off to the side, they were rolling right off and dropping beside/behind him. Couple that with the fact that switching back and forth, from practice to game, from one set of pads to another, was throwing him off, and probably contributed at least a bit to his "tender" groin, so he wasn't as mobile, either. Hopefully this will be a nice building block of a game for him. The Wings are going to need him at his best.
-
I posted in the GDT the fact that Oz has gone back to the Itech glove and blocker, after trying to break in the Brian's gear. Creature of habit, our #30....
-
Not a bad game tonight, although the Wild are deadly boring to watch. I was sure ToROTno was going to rob the Wings of the obvious goal by Franzen. It surprised me when they made the correct call. Pretty decent game from #30. Not spectacular, but serviceable. Am I the only one who noticed that he's ditched the "new" Brian's glove and blocker in favor of his old stand-by Itech gear.....?
-
LOL. This isn't the Ladies Lawn Darts Guild. How "careful" was Ovechkin supposed to be? You want a 3 foot "bubble" around Players while they're on the ice? "No Contact Hockey"? AO barely touched Heward. He rolled off him as soon as he made contact. Looked more to me like Heward lost his balance.
-
Cheap shot? In what manner was that cheap? Unfortunate? Yes. Definitely. Cheap? Not even close.

I'm listening to the Blues feed. Did I hear that correctly? The Blues haven't won a single road game in the entire month of December? I know they're bad, and I know they're injury riddled, but how do you go an entire month without winning ONE road game? **Edited for clarity...
