Peter Chiarelli says Marc Savard suffered a "serious" concussion and could be done for the season, according to TFP's Twitter. Meanwhile, Matt Cooke is probably sitting at home laughing about "just finishing his check".

I'm wondering if I should be shocked or not that Cooke hasn't been suspended yet. Makes me wonder if he'll get away with this one too.

THIS. The NHL had no problem suspending Ovechkin. For some reason though, Cooke seems to get a free pass from the league to injure whomever he likes.

Yep. And because he's on the Pens, the league disciplinary committee turns a blind eye. He's been suspended once this season when he should have been out at least three times already. I'm sure Shean Donovan thinks the same thing.

Yup, he did. And any time I've heard his name out there, it's been something GOOD. "Lilja clears the puck!" "Lilja with the blocked shot!" And so on. I haven't seen any grievous turnovers committed by him, just a lot of hard working, solid defense. It's good to have him back.

Watching the game last night on an ESPN American feed was interesting because for commercial bumpers, they were actually making it a point to interview OTHER talents around the league. In fact, when interviewing Ryan Getzlaf, they made a point to mention beforehand that the league always focuses on Crosby, Malkin and Ovechkin, while largely ignoring other young talents such as Getz, Toews, Kane, Parise, etc. Who'da thunk it? ESPN gets one right.

First post back for me and it's huge props and thanks to Matt. You got things back up and running even quicker than I thought you would. Not a knock on you at all, I just know you DO have a life outside this place unlike most of us. I had never actually seen the standard IPBoard template before. It ain't LGW-standard, but it'll do in a pinch.
