Well, I won't argue with the choice of Pittsburgh.
-
Lest we forget...Burke signed Brett Lebda as a free agent. Two years at $1.45M per. Genius, he is not.
-
Minus NHL Network and NBC Sports of course. And they'll still charge full price for Gamecenter Live. I don't even have cable anymore anyway. Meh. A substandard team won the Cup? Can't wait to see Pittsburgh in the Finals again. Yay. (Can you tell I'm still apathetic and annoyed?)
-
Well, Bettman "promised" that it would be Wings/Leafs next season. He also "promised" us a move to the Eastern Conference, so take that for what it's worth. Probably will just end up another Pittsburgh Classic next New Years.
-
Word right now on Twitter is that Doan's inking a deal with Phoenix today.
-
Would the league allow Crysob to renegotiate his contract then? Otherwise he won't be playing his lucky numbers.
-
Wow, I didn't know Semin was a defenseman. Oh, he isn't? Carry on then, Penguins.
-
Not surprised at all. Knew it was going to end like that.
-
Meanwhile, the TSN panel (especially Pierre) pulls no punches bashing Alex Semin. Milbury got crucified by the league for bashing Crysob in the playoffs, so shouldn't this TSN panel be forced to apologize to Semin?

i hope we dont panic if suter and parise signs elsewhere

If Pittsburgh is offering only $7.5M/season for Parise? That's insulting. Parise can get lots more elsewhere. And contrary to popular belief, not everyone is dying to play with Crysob. -
signed Red Wings Sign Mikael Samuelsson to 2-yr, $6m deal (w/full NTC)

.........................................................................yay. Logo Hunter is back. -
If Parise is leaning toward the Pens...well, it's his funeral.

Brodeur is posturing for money. He still wants a huge payday and Lou won't give it to him.

I'll be pissed if Holland gives us that "Well, Eaves will be our free agent acquisition when he comes back, so I like the team we have," garbage. -
I thought everyone was going to Pittsburgh guaranteed. I mean, according to all the hockey journalists, EVERYONE wants to play with Crysob. So much so that they'd sign for a buck!

Jordan Staal traded to Carolina, signs 10-yr, $60m extension
edicius replied to Salviaman's topic in General
Exactly. When I was reading on Twitter that the Pens are in on Suter AND Parise, I was wondering where the hell they were getting all this new cap space from. Mortgage the future for a one-year Cup run? Sounds status quo for teams like Pittsburgh. Suter's not going East (I think he stays in Nashville) and I highly doubt Parise would go to a division rival, especially a division rival like the Penguins where he would be mis-utilized and underappreciated. -
Whoa boy. Yet another stunning success in this league. *sigh* http://msn.foxsports.com/nhl/story/new-jersey-devils-looking-for-financial-miracle-011312

I actually saw someone on Twitter (might have been Jesse Spector) saying the Penguins' first round was synonymous with Boston's epic fail the year before they won the Cup, basically saying that Pittsburgh would have a good shot to win the Cup next season. Meanwhile, all I see is that the Penguins have gotten progressively worse each year since winning the Cup. 2009: Cup 2010: Lost in the 2nd round surrendering a 3-2 series lead to Montreal 2011: Lost in the 1st round surrendering a 3-1 series lead to Tampa Bay 2012: Lost in the 1st round (losing the first 3 games) giving up more goals in one round than the eventual Stanley Cup Champs would give up in four. Yet all these bloggers continually drink the Kool-Aid and insist that Fleury is an elite goaltender. He's not.

I'm pleased to finish in the top 10 considering I forgot to pick for the Final.

Wow, good move for Pittsburgh. I mean, if this was 2010.

2012 SCF : Los Angeles Kings vs. New Jersey Devils
edicius replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Nope. Wings win 4 Cups in 11 years. Devils would be 4 in 17. Also consider that the Devils actually missed the playoffs twice during that span (once being the season immediately following their first Cup). -
Son of a... And I screwed myself by not picking for the Finals. Ugh. Didn't think I was going to end up top 5 after 3 rounds.

PHX/LAK: 4-3 NYR/NJD: 4-2

#6 New Jersey Devils vs. #5 Philadelphia Flyers
edicius replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
If the Devils win the Cup, I'm buying a Parise jersey. Might even attend some Cup-related events around here so I can finally get a picture taken with the damn thing. -
http://predators.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=630266 Wow. Good on ya, Poile. Radulov is a selfish bastard (as I've said before, he's already said he's back to Russia after this postseason) and Kostitsyn is apparently a locker room cancer according to the Habs fans.
