That's exactly what I'm saying... two years ago salary cup was at $47M and they signed him for $6.7M... today cup is up by $10M.

I know what you mean but cap is going up every year - so giving Datsyuk deal 2 years ago for $6.7M was like giving him today $7.7M - $8.0M.

1st thing for Holland was to have a deal in place for Zetterberg... More he's waiting more Zetterberg price is going up. When you see deals that Tampa gave to Malone or Philly to Carter you can except Zetterberg going for big money ($8M). With deal in place for Zetterberg - then you can go after FA's. I don't know why he signed Lilja for 2 YEARS ($2.4M). -
