    ryan malone/ milan kraft

One thing is sure - Holland wasn't prepared for this offseason... We may actually lose one of them (Datsyuk or Zetterberg) and I really don't know why he gave that contract to Schneider. Nothing against Schneider but that contract is BS. I think that he started to panic when he saw how quick other teams started to signing FA's and he have to do something. I'm looking for Capitals to make a push for Datsyuk... don't know how this crazy offseason will finish - but I really hope that we can afford to have back those 2 players...

    Redden to Detroit...

REDDEN RUMOURS INTENSIFY. TSN.CA/OTTAWA CITIZEN: reported today that speculation is increasing the Ottawa Senators could be forced to trade defenceman Wade Redden to free up cap space required to re-sign other Senators. The Citizen report suggested several potential package offers for Redden, among them, "Florida defenceman Mike Van Ryn, Los Angeles defenceman Lubomir Visnovsky and perhaps even Detroit centre Pavel Datsyuk." Spector's Note: My thanks to all who sent this in. This story first appeared over the weekend in the Ottawa Sun, but this time there's some specifics, like the Oilers potential interest prior to trading for Chris Pronger. Looks like the Redden Rumour Mill is about to start churning furiously, although a lot could depend on what the Sens do regarding Marian Hossa and their future plans for Zdeno Chara. It'll be interesting to see what GM John Muckler has to say about all this. http://spectorshockey.tripod.com/spectors_...de_rumours.html

    Redden to Detroit...

If they are going to trade Datsyuk (I would really like to keep him) at least I hope that they will ask for Trent Hunter, Malkin or Malone...

    Who's Andy Delmore,

http://www2.sportsnet.ca/nhl/free_agent_tracker.html You should find some nice players on this list... BTW trading is also option too bad that Kenny can't trade for gritty players...

    Who's Andy Delmore,

...and a free beer (bonus for signing)...

    Who's Andy Delmore,

I don't want Datsyuk and Zetterberg start playing this kind of game... There a too small and they will get injured... If we had a big guys like Trent Hunter it would be another story. That's why I said we HAVE TO pick up someone who will do dirty jos for them...

    Who's Andy Delmore,

bootland???-consistantly inconsistant shanny- maybe 6 yrs ago... chelios- he'll get knocked straight into a retirement house ...we don't have anyone that stands out as being a though guy, mac had the presence but it was slowly fadeing...all people remembered about him was march 26 1997 and thats what intimidated those that still rememberd... It was sarcasm...

    Who's Andy Delmore,

I didn't necessarily want Gratton, to me, it was the principle. He was worth a gamble for sub 1mm, IMHO. When there is 4-5 (this kind of players that we need left) - Gratton was good solution!!!!

    Who's Andy Delmore,

I think this thread has gotten a little outta control. Let me point out I'm not lobbying for Brown or McCarthy, but any player who can fight well. At this point, I don't care if they can skate, but given their job, it really doesn't depend on it too much. I woulda loved to see a skilled foward with some toughness, but that's out the window, so I'll settle with a goon or anybody who will contribute physically. Same here!!!

    Who's Andy Delmore,

Hope you know that at least 70% of these kind of players were actually available but we didn't done nothing (beside giving Schneider $6.6M)... So there is no excuse... We have to do something that will put us in position to play against these kind of teams... There is no many ''great'' players left... Simpson, Brown, LaCouture could help us at least in getting bigger and tougher but not invincible.

    Who's Andy Delmore,

''We're talking about useless players who just fill in the 4th line and play 7-8 minutes a game.'' And you didn't want Gratton for 950k... LOGICAL
  18. Dominator2005

    Who's Andy Delmore,

And there is at least 1 true heavyweight in all these teams... Sure... but we have Bootland and Shanahan and Chelios...
  19. Dominator2005

    Who's Andy Delmore,

Didn't you said that in the NEW NHL there is no need for this kind of players?!?! Then try to imagine what you said - You want Zetterberg and Datsyuk to start hitting... Hitting who??? Fedoruk, Shelley, Laraque???
  20. Dominator2005

    Who's Andy Delmore,

You are not going to pay $6M / year for fighiting!!!
  21. Dominator2005

    Who's Andy Delmore,

For all Hockey Einstein's, Tesla's & Edison's: If there is no need in the new NHL for goons and tough players why they HAVE: Mighty Ducks of Anaheim: Fedoruk, Marshall Calgary Flames: Simon, Wiemer, McCarty Chicago Blackhawks: Lapointe, Cullimore, Barnaby, McCarthy, Vandermeer Colorado Avalanche: Blake, Laperriere, Boughner, May, Sauer, Hinote, McCormick Columbus Blue Jackets: Foote, Richardson, Wright, Klesla, Shelley, Westcott Edmonton Oilers: Pronger, Peca, Smith, Staios, Moreau, Laraque, Ulanov, Harvey Minnesota Wild: Mitchell, Nazarov, Henry, Ferguson Nashville Predators: Tootoo, Nichol, Allison, Stevenson, Hordichuk Phoenix Coyotes: O'Donnell, Ricci, Gauthier, Nash, Doull San Jose Sharks: Hannan, McLaren, Thornton, Davison, Parker St. Louis Blues: Salvador, Drake, Jackman, Low, Downey, Brewer Vancouver Canucks: Bertuzzi, Jovanovski, Brookbank, Bouck And this is only for the WESTERN conference...

    Who's Andy Delmore,

I disagree with you... So if Gretzky have played that style of hockey: hitting + scoring he could not do what he have done in the NHL. Pen's should say to Crosby to start hitting??? Why they picked up VandenBussche and Roy??? You think that Palffy is going to play gritty??? They need him to score goals... You wants to have one dimensional players... Scorers must think of scoring and 3rd and 4th lines bringing energy and changing momentum of the game...
  23. Dominator2005

    Who's Andy Delmore,

You are going to pay Zetterberg and Datsyuk to start hitting other players or to score some goals??? You need to have a perfect mix talent + grit + speed if you want to win some games...
  24. Dominator2005

    Who's Andy Delmore,

Maybe we should buy a flowers before every game and give it to the other team with note: Please don't hit us... We don't want to hit you guys...
  25. Dominator2005

    Who's Andy Delmore,

I'm not sure that Gretzky could have a GREAT career without McSorley... Maybe you should start watching sports without contact!
