Red Wings supposedly showed interest in Halak
Dominator2005 replied to Dominator2005's topic in General
RDS.CA: Renaud Lavoie recently examined the market value of Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jaroslav Halak as well as the teams which might be interested in him. Lavoie claims the Detroit Red Wings have made inquiries, the Edmonton Oilers could use a goalie, and the Philadelphia Flyers haven't fully closed the door on a potential deal. The Columbus Blue Jackets were believed interested but a source denied this. MONTREAL GAZETTE: Pat Hickey reported on Christmas eve Halak's strong performance over his previous three games at that time, stopping 137 shots during that period, and based on that performance the Canadiens cannot afford to move him now. SPECTOR'S NOTE: Factor in the 47-save performance in last night's OT win over the Maple Leafs and that's even more reason the Habs shouldn't move him. Still, it'll also bolster his trade value, but I maintain if the Canadiens do move Halak it'll be near or on the March 3rd trade deadline, not now. http://spectorshockey.net/index.php?option...rs&Itemid=4 -

What's wrong with her??? Flyers will trade one of them - Carter or Hartnell. I don't like Hartnell at all but we could use him. Bert - Dats - Homer Franzen - Zetterberg - Hartnell Cleary - Flip - Eaves Drapes - Helm - Miller/May/Maltby

http://hendrickshockey.com/index.php?optio...s&Itemid=86 http://www.toutsurlehockey.com/rumeurs-de-...dcfd03604a81396 According to Brochu Is Hockey, there is a rumored deal between the Vancouver Canucks and Philadelphia Flyers floating around out there. The Flyers would send Jeff Carter and defenseman Ryan Parent to Vancouver in exchange for Ryan Kesler and Kevin Bieska. Brochu says it would make a very intersting trade as the Flyers have been interested in Kesler for some time now and Carter would give the Canucks some offensive punch. Hendricks Says : Not a bad deal and the salaries would work. Beiska makes $3.75 million and Kesler Makes $1.75 million. Carter makes $5 million and Parent makes a mere $885,000. The Flyers would actually trim some payroll but not much. Kelser is a RFA at the end of this season and is set for a raise. Also, the Canucks would have to take on Carter's $5 million for next year as well. This isn't completely absurd, it has potential but I dont know if the Canucks are going to part with Kelser, a hot commodity and one of their top d-man in Kevin Bieska for Carter who makes $5 million and has been struggling for some time.

Would you take Ilya Kovalchuk if Lidstrom retires?
Dominator2005 replied to Miller Brew's topic in General
If Lids is gone then Holland MUST go after top 2 off D - and I hope that he will go after (trade) Kaberle (not so expensive at $4.25M). Also - Kubina or Corvo right hand def. (at +/- $3.5M per season) could only provide boost to our PP units. Meech and Lebda are PAST. If not: Michalek or Robidas (I just don't see Dallas letting him go) http://www.sportscity.com/nhl/2010-nhl-unr...sition/#Defense Kaberle (wish) - Rafalski Kronwall - Kubina/Corvo/Michalek Stuart - Ericsson Kindl Once we have def set - then go after: Keep Bert at $1.5M scoring forwards see: Frolov, Bourque... some toughness see: Thornton, Asham, Boogaard -
