Does anyone else love this Rick Rypien kid

I understand you 100% only thing I'm saying give this kid some time... if he can stay constant 1-2 years then I will have to say yes - but let's be honest, he's no match for Asham or Neil...

Expect Big Changes at the Trade Deadline

I really wanted Anderson this summer... I think that Osgood can still be SOLID but he needs someone like Hasek (Conklin did great job last season) to push him... some kind of healthy competition - motivation...

Expect Big Changes at the Trade Deadline

-Don't expect the Detroit Red Wings to do much trade-wise in the aftermath of the injury to Johan Franzen. The club wants to win but aren't going to do anything to jeopardize their future and won't sacrifice top picks or prospects for a short-term fix. LeBrun also notes the Wings have $16 million coming off their payroll next summer so they're in good position to make some moves then plus younger players like Darren Helm, Justin Abdelkader, Jonathan Ericsson and Jimmy Howard will get more playing time this season. SPECTOR'S NOTE: That's why the Wings were among the NHL's top teams for the past 18 years, and why, if they should fall to the middle of the pack or worse this season because of injuries and the loss of offense, they won't spend years struggling to rebuild. Those cheering for the fall of the Red Wings this season should bear that in mind as it could only be for one season...if that even happens. Never count out the Red Wings, folks, they're the class of the NHL for a reason, and it's called wise management. http://spectorshockey.net/index.php?option...rs&Itemid=4

Give them at least 20 games

You can miss playoff's by 1 point... Let's not forget Olympic factor (fatigue)... So we better get more points before Vancouver 2010... So far no + things (beside PP units)...

    Wings Penalty Killing.....EPIC FAIL

PK units at +/- 60% - we should be 29th or 30 in NHL... and people laugh when I said that Betts, Moen or Grier is a NEED... Nothing was done in offseason to get PK units better. Another thing, it's nice when your star players are playing on PK - but maybe they should play more quality minutes 5 on 5 and on PP in order to get going that 1st line... Lebda, Meech are very, very bad... if they don't call up Delmore they should really try to trade either one for Ian White wich we be better option on PP 2nd unit that Williams (who isn't playing bad)...

Wings sign Brad May to 1 Year Deal, $500k

http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...onight_for.html Brad May will play tonight if paperwork is completed, Red Wings need his toughness By Ansar Khan October 08, 2009, 11:27AM DETROIT -- Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said forward Brad May will play tonight against the Blackhawks if he gets his work permit in time. “I don’t know if May is playing yet because he’s got to go to Immigration,'' Babcock said. When May does get in the lineup, Babcock knows the Wings could use his toughness. He didn't like the way the Blues threw their weight around in the first two games. “We got the crap run out of us,'' Babcock said. "We had May in a couple of games in exhibition and no one got hacked or whacked or touched. We don’t have him and we get run. You get tired of watching that. "Our guys do a real good job of competing hard, but we don’t have a team that twists off helmets at stoppages and when you start seeing it all the time, it’s just nice when you got someone to look after that stuff now. "Tough guys always play tough, I got no problem with that. But the guys that aren’t tough, when they play against you and are tough, that drives me crazy. So we’ve seen enough of that.’’ If May can't play, Patrick Eaves, a healthy scratch the first two games, will make his Wings debut. “He’s working hard, he’s competing hard, he’s trying,'' Babcock said of Eaves. "He’s going to get in the lineup here right away, either tonight or the next game, time will tell.’’ WOW!!!

    No Panic - HUGE NEWS

http://detnews.com/article/20091005/SPORTS...n-Wings--lineup Meech to replace Lebda in Wings' lineup Chris McCosky / The Detroit News Detroit --Red Wings coach Mike Babcock will make at least one change before the home-opener Thursday. He said Monday that he will use Derek Meech alongside Jonathan Ericsson on the third defense pairing, replacing Brett Lebda. Babcock called the move a coach's decision, one not based on any injury. Lebda struggled in the first two games (minus-3). Darren Helm (shoulder) is eligible to come off the injured list Thursday, but it looks like it's going to take a little longer before he's ready to play. He has been skating with the team for more than a week, but he says the shoulder is still tender. He isn't ready for full contact just yet. Advertisement Babcock also said that it could be a while before Jimmy Howard gets another start, but that's a function of the relaxed schedule and not Howard's performance Saturday. "It's important now for Jimmy not to dwell on it," Babcock said. "Everybody lets in bad goals. Marty Brodeur (New Jersey goalie) lets in bad goals, but what he does he responds. He knows he's the best and he acts like he's the best. That's what you do and that's what Howie has to do. "Don't dwell on stuff. Focus on the positive and make the next save." We are going to be fine now!!!

    Brendan Shanahan on Waivers

I would have rather Shanny instead of Homer on Pavel's line... Shanny - Dats - Franzen Bert - Zetterberg - Cleary Leino - Flip - Homer/Williams Helm/Maltby/Eaves - Draper/Helm - Homer/Williams Give Homer time on PP, waive Williams ( ) and that's it
