I'm glad we're up against the cap this year. That means we've gotten the absolute most we could have for our team. But that's not what this thread is about. It's about Flip. FEED THE MULE, FLIP!! edit: Pavel Bure would be one of my picks after Dino, Gilmour, and Larionov. I really believe Hockey should do it more like the NFL. It's a dangerous sport and people's careers can be ended in an instant. Don't look just at the all-time numbers, but were they one of the elite players in the sport for at least 4-5 years. That IMO should be enough and should be what the hall is about too. Obviously, I'm the kind of person that thinks Terrell Davis and Roger Maris should be in their halls.

Thanks for the correction. Good thing for Hasek he played in 41 regular season games on the nose or he'd need a petition too. I'm pretty sure that all teams put their backup goalie on there no matter how many they play.

He's resuming light workouts, which makes it sound like he'd be ready for the finals when they start. This will be alright. Glad they're making sure he's 100% healthy before bringing him back. They'll be able to close out Dallas without him.

Another shout out from Austin, TX - GO WINGS!!!!! And by the way, Round Rock and Pflugerville, TX are only about 10 miles from Austin, so you can pretty much say we're all from the Austin area. I hope my job search comes through before the playoffs are over so I can actually be HOME in Michigan to watch them hoist the cup. I think the main reason people outside MI post on this board is because there's nobody in their respective places to talk Wings hockey with. Tuesday is the deadline for players to sign and be eligible for the SC playoffs. Drake has gotta see the writing on the wall here. He eally hasn't been much help this year like we'd all hoped. If Mac can do just as much or maybe even a little more then I'd much rather have him.

The BJ's are picking up a player for the stretch run? I guess they really really really want to make the playoffs at least once. It's just wierd seeing them as buyers at the trade deadline for once, even if they don't plan on going deep into the playoffs. So what's the details here? Is Tarnstrom in the last year of a deal or is the Oil just trying to shed salary? Does Glencross have any upside?

Whether anyone comes to the Wings by the deadline or not remains to be seen. All I hope for is that NHL GMs stop giving up so much for rental players. Dial it down a notch or two. I like the speculation and players changing sides, but it just makes me sick what a GM will give up for a guy like Brendan Witt or Keith Tkachuk. I guess if everyone else wants to keep doing it fine, but since we hope to always be buyers we hopefully won't be making many deals.

Part of me hopes the wings deal a late pick for Feds just so people will stop posting about it all the time. well, never mind, b/c everyone will just complain about how he's playing then. I wish Feds would retire so we can all move on.

I just voted for the NHL all star roster at NHL.com. Yes, my roster for the West was what you would call a 'red wings homer' roster, but you gotta admit, you can make a really good case for Ozzie to be in there. Based on his win-loss alone I could see it. comments?

For about 3 years. But I was speaking specifically about these past two months. Dats was with him in camp and I thought they had met up before that by the urging of the team. You know they wanted to have people check in with Grigs throughout the summer. I played college basketball, there really is no offseason. You've got workout schedules made up for you, "voluntary" team practices run by the older guys, times and stats from your workouts to submit, etc. I'm sure playing at the PRO level this is about 10x as strenuous. How in the hell Grigs could show up at camp out of shape just blows my mind. They've got scouts in every part of the world that can check in on these guys for the Wings, note their progress. it just sounds like he got fat and happy with that 1 million tax free contract. I don't know how you can possibly make up being that far behind from the start.

Just sign Foppa, that way we won't have to give up anyone ;-) Following Grigs and his development thus far, I can honestly say that I'm already sick of him and part of me does hope they just send his ass packing back to Russia. He's obviously not ready to contribute at the NHL level. Babs isn't going to put up with his s***, no way. Trade him, release him, I don't care anymore. So if Dats was supposed to be his mentor, etc etc, why haven't we heard of him stepping up and being one yet? Being a leader, that's what you do.
