i would rather have hudler sit, i like him a lot and hes a great young player but three times yesterday i noticed him carrying the puck over the blue and just throw it to the boards when a D stood up on him, all three times resulting in easy turnovers. Granted besides those three occasions he played well and had a nice heads up play on his assist on lidstroms goal, but i think those little things could be the difference, just a thought.

honestly, before i had ever read any internet bashing about the preds announcers or had ever heard them call a game or heard how bad they were, i was sitting with my family watching VanderVision (the VanderMale version of JoeVision..) and we muted the tv for the whole game and listened to Mickey on my brothers laptop. It was a completley unbiased decision cause its not like i knew how bad they were before hand, we just seriously could not handle them they got under our skin so fast that we made that we couldn't handle them anymore. Its not that they dont know anything about hockey. Its that they are so biased that i just wish somehow they knew how stupid they sound. I just wish they could call it even. You hear Mickey all the time disagree with calls the refs make against opposing teams and you'll hear him agree with some on us. I just wish the preds announcers weren't so biased is all.

I honestly think I would cry if I ever met him.. I got to a Wings game early one time a few years back and I was up against the glass for warm ups. I remember my eyes welling up when we was leaning against the boards with just a half inch of glass seperating us. I was pretty damn close to tears, and I'm a guy.

I live in NH and there are a lot of bruins fans here who hate the Red Wings, i dunno why prob cause all bruins fans are also avs fans because of Ray Bourqe which is rediculous. However, at a point in this years season when Detroit was number 1 overall, this kid was talkin s*** to me about how boston is so much better. and i say to him.. "number 1 in the leauge number 22 in the leauge.. its no debate." and he says, "yeah but whens the last time you saw a red wings fight" "true we dont have many of them" "yeah and the bruins fight all the time which is why we're so good and the Wings suck"

Guess what makes it more special than what it was is the fact that iit was the GW for the cup. The Mac goal was sweet... Esp for a mac goal. But I've saw better from zets and hank and a gazillion other players. First off, you must not have been paying much attention huh, we could never play the blues in the cup finals, that was the semi's. Secondly, whats the difference between these to people, zets and hank? arent they one in the same?

i was just coming on here to post this topic and soon as i get on i already saw it yeah he pissed me off and i hate him, does anyone have a video of that? i was watching it in rewind on dvr and my mom changed the channel so i didnt get to see hardly any of it, then i come on here and the whole sites a buzz with it, so i'd love to see what i missed.

hey just so all of you know, i played in that tournament.. its a highschool tournament up in Maine. all the goalies are around 16 or 17, and everyone else for that matter. my buddy is one of the goalies he got scored on, we have all blue jerseys. anyway, watched the kid play in games and wasnt to impressed, in fact i didnt notice him at all until the skills comp. he must be a freshman in highschool, i was 13 as a freshman.

That tribute is amazing. One of my biggest regrets is after Detroit lost to edmonton i was so pissed off that i stormed away and didnt even realize that i was missing Yzerman get off the ice for the last time, and now that is such a famous photo of him...

ya but goalies in gordies era were terrible, not taking anything away from him at all, he is a legend, but look at the improvements goalies have made just in the past decade mid-Yzerman's career. Nothing against Gordie, god knows i love him, but till the day i die no matter what, Yzerman will always be my hero, and im voting for number 19

i'd rather have Mo Cheese in net then Belfour.. nothin against eddie he was a great goaltender in his day, and probably could be a decent one now, just not with us

i dunno if i would say finesse is dead gowingsgo, i mean isnt finesse exactly what the new NHL is trying to do? less clutch and grab more speed and room, correct me if im wrong but Datsyuk did have 87 points this year sorry that thats not exactly on topic but i saw that and i felt it needed to be said

Jimmy Howard would be a HUGE addidition to the Wings. Right now one of the things we are lacking is a goaltender, and he is a solid one coming up the pipeline. After all for the past few year the Wings have had top name goaltenders... Dominic Hasek and Cujo are not names to be thrown around lightly. So I just hope that Jimmy Howard will become another great, and have a great start with the Wings.
