When Modano officially signs the 1.25 million dollar contract... from my check, we will have around $2,008,000 left under the cap, which is plenty to sign Abby and Helmer and also go out and sign a dman after we trade Meech. All in all not too bad at all!

Modano just sent a text message to ESPN.com per Pierre Lebrun's twitter "From Modano to ESPN.com via text regarding visit with Red Wings, "Saw them today, off to the Tiger game with Ken, Babcock and Mr Ilitch."

Guys remember in only 59 games last year with decreasing PT, he still got 14 goals and 30 points. So with more PT and more games played he might be able to rack up mid 40s in points, which isn't half bad for a 3rd line center.
