Great news in the article all the way around! I hope Leino turns into a stud! http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...ilppula_gi.html

The Mule scored with 30 seconds left in regulation to send it to OT and then had the GW shootout goal from team Abel. Mursak and Hudler also scored for Team Abel. Chelios, Lebda and Hossa (who seems to have dominated the training camp tourney thing) scored for Team Delvecchio. Hank and Leino also scored in the shootout for Team Abel. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...dd_man_out.html

When considering the final forward spots....
HockeytownRules19 replied to hckypete96's topic in General
Maybe I'm just an idiot, but I saw him improve greatly from 2 years ago to last year before he got hurt. Do I think he can be a 30 goal scorer... heck no, but do I think he can be a solid 3rd or 4th forward who plays with skill and intensity, plus he is very physical which is always a plus. -

I disagree with 2 of the 3, i think Maltby deserves to start and be a part of the 4th line, and I think Kopecky should be on the line too, his potential is through the roof. Plus i think Sammy is for sure going to be on the 3rd line with Cleary and Flip. -
Helm, Downey, McCarty or Leino? I have no idea... what do you guys think?
-
Guys, do you know what numbers Ty Conklin (it isn't 35 cuz thats Jimmy's number) and Ville Leino will have?
-
Kopecky's spot as the 12th forward has got to be already locked up... it will come down to the other 4.

Question regarding a couple Wings jersey numbers
HockeytownRules19 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Awesome Thanks! -
Excited to see him play http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20..._wings_for.html

Let's say he plays great for the whole season and is one of the many factors which lead us to another Stanley Cup this upcoming year... would you be ok if he left to go and get that mega contract from another team? I'd be perfectly fine with it... only if we win it this year lol

per the Free Press http://freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID...083/1048/sports
-
Z, Dats, Hos, Flip, Mule, Homer, Drapes, Maltby, Sammy, Huds and Cleary already have spots locked up. I have no idea...who would you guys pick, Darren or Tomas?
-
Who gets the 12th starting forward spot?
HockeytownRules19 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I agree, but I think those are two leading candidates. -
"The deal makes eminent sense for the defending Stanley Cup champs, who now boast a fearsome forward contingent that includes some of the best two-way hockey players in the world, Hossa, Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg. Zetterberg will be unrestricted at the end of the 2008-09 season and GM Ken Holland will have to open his wallet, so the one-year deal gives both Hossa and Holland room to move. Can anyone say "repeat?"" I Love It!
-
"It's fantastic," Wings coach Mike Babcock said. "He fits into our philosophy in that he wants to win. He’s a two-way player like Pav and Z, and what I mean by that is, he’s as good with the puck as without. To me, he’s one of the top 15 forwards in the game." "After you win the Cup, it’s easy to be stale," Babcock said. "You have to change things up a bit, and that’s what we’ve been able to do. It’s that excitment that helps your team get started. We like the steps we've taken." I am envious of Babs!

You forgot Homer lol....where does he go?
