OK, well I still don't think my comment was a personal attack. Just an attempt to understand his motivation. I understand Osgood fans are a bit defensive and jumpy and paranoid these days. Take care and soothe yourself. Worhless commentary.

Lidstromboli going "meta". Anyway its all good. Ovie will put him in his place yet again.
-
He's the first ****** bag to not shake hands after winning the cup at JLA ever.

Are you defending Outsider pro-bono or are you getting paid for this sorry-ass defense? I hope its free, because, and this is Just a tip, you really shouldn't go into law. Rationality is not your strong suit - or maybe its just reading.... Now THAT'S a personal attack? See the difference?
-
Let me rephrase. I believe the arbitrary nature of Outsiders 18 rebound number is motivated by his frustration with Osgood's status on the team. That may be less inflammatory, but essentially means the same thing. BTW, this is NOT an Ad Hominem by definition. The statement "I just think his exaggerations are born of Ozzie protectionism" is not an attack. Just a reasonable hypothesis. Outsiders long-winded posts speak for themselves. On the flip side. Why do you defend such an arbitrary and random statement based on complete subjectivity in the first place?
-
Ahh, but I have not stated anything is objectionable about person 1 which is unrelated to this discussion. I have not called him a homer or even an Ozzie slappie (at least recently). I just think his exaggerations are born of Ozzie protectionism. Sort of like when a cornered dog goes on the attack. It no longer makes sense to ***** and whine about Babcock screwing Osgood etc. etc., so in the end it is about exaggerating Howards faults. Its cool I get it. To refresh your memory I said: "I think your Ozzie blinders skew your numbers." Or something close to that. I was being generous by not flat out stating that he pulled this little number fantasy out of his/her ass. Mostly because I agree rebound control is the weakest part of his game. Well. that and general puck-handling. But overall these are minor issues that have and will continue to improve as Howard gains experience.
-
I'm simply stating the 18 additional shots per game that Howard supposedly gives up is an outlandish claim and is based upon a clear historical record of bias towards Osgood over Howard. How is this an "argument toward the person" or "argument against the person"? Whatever... I guess we can disagree on what an Ad Hominem is as well as goaltending.
-
Really? Calling out the 18 shots a game that Howard supposedly give up in rebounds as bulls*** is unreasonable? How is it a personal attack when the record is clear where this poster comes from and the bias he brings? You need to check some defs before you post latin my friend as I doubt it is your first language.
-
No really, those number are greatly exaggerated and your posts as well as Outsiders speak for themselves w/ regards to Howard and Ozzie.

Another yesterday vs. tomorrow thread. OK, I'll bite. Maltby => gold watch and lovely retirement party with 1990's slide show. Guy was a great grinder once, but 35+ grinders are usually...meh. Grinding is a young man's sport. Hell, look at how much more effective Helm, Miller, Eaves, and even Abbie are now. Thanks for the memories Malts.

Problem with Neil's hit is that he comes from about a 45 degree angle from behind. Not strictly from behind, but if you are Prucha, you have to blessed with fly-like peripheral vision. Having said that, this hit is more about the bad glass in Glendale then anything else.
-
The fact that it is way late is precisely the point. Players are completely unprepared for that as in this case. Obviously the other guy got concussed pretty good. I'd give him at least 3 games and a healthy fine.
-
It's more about the Canadien feeling of superiority and entitlement, the possible joy of watching a national temper-tantrum, players folks don't like (Crysby) - not too mention certain color commentator who is a nationalistic ******. Other than that, go Canada.

I hope Homer can rest. Franzen can use the work, and Datsyuk will use this to fire up the rest of his season. I worry about Z, who has looked tired most of the season and Kronner, due to his injury tendencies. Rafalski could use the rest as well. Yeah, so except for Dats and Franzen, pretty much all these guys would be better of resting. Oh yes, and Lids should rest too.
-
I mostly hope for any country other than those from North America because I can't stand the way hockey is coached here compared to Europe. Stressing systems over skills for kids is ridiculous. I especially am looking forward to seeing Canada lose. Overall, I like Russia and want to see some Datsyuk magic with guys like Malkin and Kovalchuk

Isn't it interesting how you notice every second the worst d-man is on the ice? I swear 10 mnutes feels like 20 and that he is getting Lidstrom minutes. Usually this perception is reserved for Lebda, but lately E for sure.

no doubt...If you want to think devastated think Haiti.

I'm pretty sure there is a holographic image on my ass selling something, though every time I try to look it disappears.

Ericsson is a tough call. Yes, he has been brutal including tonight, yet he has shown the capacity for competence in the playoffs last year. I wish he could go down to GR to get his head on straight, but he can't. He needs some confidence and coaching - neither of which he is getting from the wings right now. Long term, he will probably be a player if he learns to be a bit meaner, but he has no role models on this team. Actually, much like Quincey, he should try to bail out and re-establish his career elsewhere. I wish him the best.

I've watched 2 games with Franzen back and now remember what it's like when a big guys finishes checks. Same with Homer for that matter. Yes, Bert has scored some big goals this year, but he has no heart and no drive. The guy will only perform as well as he thinks he has to.
-
I've made this argument before: If you are fighting for a playoff spot you figure out how to get points wherever you can. Either shootouts are not considered important in practice by the coaching staff or the players are not executing. In either case the coaching staff should be held accountable. After 60 minutes of hockey, pissing away points like this indicates to me that there is something wrong with this team.
-
Totally agreed. This game again was about 3 epic failures: 1) At least one serious defensive breakdown that is at the level of bantam hockey. 2) Inability to capitalize on the power play and 3) inability to score shoot-out goals. When points and playoffs are up for grabs one must ask....why?
-
You know what else really pisses me off? Bert and Franzen were once the same player. Bert has turned into such a ******* ***** that it makes my ass ache. I've been a supporter all year, but I'm done. He brings zero nad to the table.
-
I find it amazing we have pissed this many points away during this season. Babcocks attention to detail sucks.
