This seems cut and dried. It was ruled a good goal on the ice and everything worked out as it should have according to the rules. Of course key questions remain: 1. How does a ref with his unobstructed nose 4 feet from the play get overruled by 2 guys who are ... where again? This reminds me of the grassy knoll. -
lol... Well, I'm not exactly a Leino fan either, but I do think he is a better player on both ends of the ice. Minus any sense of toughness of course.

Lets not get carried away. May really does do very little albeit slightly more than Downey did. He's not a liability, but he's pretty damn close as far as skating and playing hockey goes. That's not to say he shouldn't dress for some games. However, I agree if he isn't enforcing at every opportunity, then he shouldn't be playing.

The one nice thing about these injuries is the chance to see Eaves, Miller and Helm get more ice. While these guys are not scorers its clear that they bring what is expected of them and in some cases more. It will be interesting to see what Babcock does with the line-up once we get some forwards back. For instance, who sits when Williams comes back? And no fair saying Leino, since he's already splitting time with May.

My theory is that Illitch made 0 friends with the league during the strike. The league perceives Illitch and the Wings as arrogant and self-serving and is trying to make them pay. -

If Howard is still around 3rd in the league in GAA and 3rd in the league in SVPCT and Osgood is around 27th and 34th , then Howard will start. The job is and will be Howard's to lose. BTW, Hot young goaltenders have had some good runs in recent years: For example, Ward, Theodore, Giguire come to mind.

Obviously no trade, but my guess is this is the last year we'll see Osgood in a wings sweater. I don't think Babs like him, plus its probably time to move on.
