Ok cmon, this team play defense as well as most teams in the league. Teams give up chances - it happens. Momentum in games shifts. If I recall the wings again were outplaying the preds for the majority of the game. I think after 2 it was like 29 to 19 shots or so. When it was 2-1 I said to myself - "no way 2 goals is enough with Osgood in net". And then? 3 goals on like 3 shots. All stoppable. I don't know what to say anymore. I'm banking on the fact that Babcock will come to his senses about playing Osgood in the playoffs, but who knows? I really think that we will be gone in the first round - second tops with him in net. He is just... Horribly bad.

I miss Helm - that skates like a demon and finishes checks. He would have brought some needed energy tonight.

The misconception that Datsyuk and Zetterberg are equal
clutchngrab replied to JeffBridges's topic in General
Actually for me at forward it goes: First Dats followed by Hossa at a close second and Z a close third. Then a bit of a ways off is Franzen and then a larger gap between (take your pick) Cleary, Homer, Huds, Flip. I don't like to debate about who is better after the top 4 because alot has to do with the roles and situations required and who is hot or cold, etc. But w/out a doubt, to have 3 elite guys who bring it every game is a blessing that we need to enjoy this year because it ain't happening again anytime soon. -
Contract talks between Wings and Hossa, Franzen on hold
clutchngrab replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
You should google and see how much 30-35 goal scoring forwards make in the NHL. I know he hasn't done it over multiple years, but he's not an old man or anything. These threads make me laugh because everyone brings out there jelly-beans, abacuses, scapels and what-not to figure out how they create what we all know is impossible. There is no "Kenny" magic here. Unfortunately, he apparently gave out no-trades like candy. -
Contract talks between Wings and Hossa, Franzen on hold

Yeah this isn't happening: Hudler would get more than that even in arbitration - never mind RFA. -
so who starts tomorrow?

Canadien refs will never call a good game in a canadien building against a "Euro" American team.

40 something games of bad luck. Whoda thunk it.

There is no god only osgod!

WTF - I s*** my pants when I saw who wasn't finishing on that scoring chance. Z is signed, so now its all about the Hossa love.

"Ahh, we get be a little more aggressive and stay out of the box." Do these guys go to school for this s*** or do they just watch ESPN.

how many times has stuart failed to clear this year? Christ.

Oz - flopping like a fish for no reason.

Malts! too bad....

No, we have to win in spite of this.

First, who the hell gives a s*** about anything ESPN says. Secondly, the E in ESPN stands for Eastern Conference.

What the Thrashers thought about Osgood tonight.
clutchngrab replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
Oz made some really good saves early when it mattered and you could say he dominated in the 1st period. The real diff recently is the wings, as a whole, have kicked it up a notch. Oz is now Oz - no better or worse than he's ever been now that the team in foront of him is playing hockey. -
Would like a smiley face to go with that happy meal?

Most of you are ******* dillusional. There is absolutely no way we get beyond the Conf final w/ Osgood in net. I'm sorry, I've watched this team for a long time and understand that we have never won cups on goaltending. That's fine, but the difference between the guys on the ice and the goaltender has never been greater. There's still time for Osgood to prove me wrong. But Gaaak, we may waste one of the top 3 or 4 on ice teams over the last 12 years due to the s*** for goalie tandem. This game should have been a shutout after one and a blowout after that.

nice shot. surprising considering the source.

Normal s***ty NHL officiating.

My only issue with Kopecky is hitting. Last year he led the team in hits before the injury. The ocassional scoring is nice, but his role really is to use his body - especially now that maltby won't and Drake is gone.

I like Columbus alot for the FIELD. They smell like Edmonton when they went to the cup finals against Carolina.

Babcock is not Bowman. Scottie new how to keep talented teams on the edge and perform. Different times different coach.

Who thought Kronwall, Stuart and Osgood would have collectively sucked this bad?
