My biggest disappointment so far in this series is how incompetent the Wings look at scoring wide-open empty net goals at the end of each game. If that's my biggest complaint - I'll take it
-
Lol @ Cleary - literally botching two empty net goals at the end of two consecutive games. Edit: oh was that Flip today?
-
Ansar Khan is saying Game 6 at the earliest: http://mobile.mlive.com/site?webredirect=true&targetUrl=http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2011/04/red_wings_henrik_zetterberg_sk.html

The original deadspin article has been removed. Possible gag? EDIT - Nevermind, found it: http://m.deadspin.com/5791907/if-you-throw-an-octopus-on-the-ice-in-detroit-you-could-be-fined-500-and-ejected George Malik is going to follow up on it with the city and the Wings Org.
-
I would assume that also means hats after a hat trick. The NHL is going to lose me as a fan one of these days.
-
That would be epic - seeing Bettman pelted by octopi! Wings would never get a power play again
-
If I played for the Wings I'd get all my millionaire teammates to kick in some pocket change to pay these fines for the fans.
-
Lol
-
The flip has been switched!! Don't let up!!!! So happy playoff hockey is here!
-
Nugget of wisdom for the Wings: We are a much better team with 5 players on the ice. I'll even waive my consulting fee for that one.
-
This could be a tight series if the Wings play a man down for half of each game.
-
They have a good defense, but I better see Detroit play an aggressive forechecking system, with 2 aggressive forwards up at all times. I really think that will be the key, to play Phoenix hard and in their face.
-
He better give his freakin' all in that case. This guy can make a difference when his heart is in it, and I hope he does.
-
Agreed - it's literally been his best season points-wise, but 20 pts in 60 odd games is just not worth the sacrifice of him playing with less responsibility.
-
With Zetterberg out, I'd like to see Bertuzzi on Doan - he's actually done a good job against other power forwards, like Getzlaf.
-
When paired with Lidstrom Stuart just seemed irresponsible, pinching a lot and exploring his offensive game. He's not good at it, and much better playing a stay-at-home game paired with Kronwall. Rafalski is smarter in pinching and a better skater - so not nearly as many odd man rushes for Lidstrom to fend off.
-
The ref just blocked a breakaway pass for the red wings!!! Proof!!!!
-
Edzo just said "we know we're" going to get a power play".
-
Luckily, we can actually watch the games so we do not have to rely on fallible stats!
-
So have the refs just decided to not call anything on Chicago?
-
Defensive play can not be judged by stats alone... I take it you rarely watch Visnovsky, he rarely kills penalties for a reason. Yes, the poll was a couple months ago... Has Lidstrom fallen apart in the last couple months, defensively?
-
Rafalski was about to re-break Kopecky's jaw :lol
-
+\- is not a good indicator of defensive play. You do know Zetterberg is a negative player, right? In an NHL players' poll this year, Lidstrom was voted 2nd as best defensive defenseman, behind only Chara. But they're all wrong because his +/- is down?
-
I think Lidstrom is now a +1.
-
IE. Stats are more important than actual play.
