A hockey historian went through old game logs and found Howe had two officially. At one point I remember Shanahan had the most ever with around 13. But yes, a lot of 5 minute fighting calls nowadays were 2 minute roughing penalties back in the day. Howe didn't have to fight much anyways, because when he did - he really hurt people.

Saw a couple fights break out below our section. Didn't seem too serious. Upper bowl was 50/50 Wings - Leafs fans. Lower bowl was mainly Wings fans. For the most part, it was cool seeing them all there - just loud, boisterous fans who ended up making it like a playoff game. Fun to go back and forth with them. I really appreciated it when a lady in a Leafs jersey leaned forward and asked a particularly foul-mouthed, unruly fan to knock it off. Amazingly, he was an angel the rest of the game. Probably would not have gone over so well if it came from a Wings fan. Really too bad these teams see each other so rarely.

Only game I went to this year - picked a great one. Thanked some Leafs fans in our section for taking Lebda off our hands.

Toronto is the only away team who can fill the Joe like this.

No question about it - Howard has sucked this year. Hope we see the regular season from last year Howard in the playoffs.

I can't get too upset about this one though - effort was there and Howard was good. Datsyuk, Franzen and Bertuzzi could have easily made the difference. Ultimately, Luongo just proved he was the better goalie, which is not shocking.

March always sucks in Detroit - except last year when it was the first time we bad a healthy team. It is worrisome to see teams like the Canucks and Penguins continue to pile on the wins all season long despite some huge injuries. Wings better flip that proverbial switch in the playoffs.

Bah. Good game for the Wings in all honesty. Didn't expect to win that one and they still made it awfully close, outplaying the Canucks for a good portion of the game.

Weird season for Lids - that crap has happened all the time - only defenseman back, exactly where he needs to be and he gets the negative to go down to -2 for the season.

I've always loved Modano's game but he has really come off as a Negative Nancy the past few years. Maybe not the type of guy you want in the locker room.

As long as Mursak is on the team next year I'm fine with Modano. Emmerton, Miller and Draper - I do not think it will be devastating to lose one or two of them.
