Wings are slowing the game down and controlling the puck better - bodes well.

Lucky as hell to be tied after this period.
-
Ouch, Sharks out for blood in the first.

Tests Confirm Probert had chronic traumatic encephalopathy

I hope not. I think fighting is exciting and one of the things that makes hockey at the pro level so unique. These guys get paid tons of money to put their bodies at risk and are by no means forced to fight. It's a dangerous profession - just like the military or being a fire fighter or police officer, except hockey players probably have a lot more fun and get paid 100 times more. Fighting actually reached it's height in the 80s, saw it's low immediately after the lockout and has actually been steadily increasing since then. -
I think they'll win it this year. It's one of those 'good feeling' years.

Wings deserve that loss - too bad for Howard who was the only one to show up tonight.

Larry Murphy: "that does look good" - during a Miller Light commercial. "There really is nothing better than dollar hot dogs" when camera shows LGW's own poster. Lol

Embarrassing PP, but liked seeing Franzen actually hustling and playing Getzlaf physically.

Top rookie seasons: Pulkkinen 17+32=49 Selänne 33+25=58 Peltola 28+30=58 4 games left I believe.

I'm actually getting a little excited about this guy. Even had some good press in a recent issue of THN.

Lidstrom on Jim Rome radio show this morning

LIAR MOUTH!!!! -
Great post - I think it literally is the difference between signing a goalie at a high (Neimi) vs. signing a goalie at a low (Howard). These two have not done much to differentiate themselves up to this point, IMO. Quite frankly, I feel a little lucky the Wings have been able to win despite Howard posting lesser stats compared to last season, as otherwise his price tag would be similar to Neimi's.

Vancouver adding forward depth - picking up Higgins and Lappy. -
$4.5m over 2 years ($2.25m per year). Not bad!
-
Agree the offseason is when to go after Bogosian, if at all - Hudler's offensive depth is more important in a playoff run today. Besides Eklund posted today Bogo was headed to the Islanders!
-
Very impressive PK by the Sharks as well.
-
Amazing kill - and with Lidstrom off the ice, too.
-
And at least 3 5 on 3s.
-
Sharks need about 30 mins of PP time per game to beat the Wings.
-
More smiles from Babcock in that 3 minute clip than I have seen in his entire tenure here. I'm wiggin' out dude!!!!

Good post. Common players on the 90 Oilers and 94 Rangers: Messier Graves Tikkanen Anderson Beukeboom Lowe MacTavish

I would easily consider Lemieux in the Top 10- what that guy went through to come back was an inspiration to pretty much any hockey player out there, I can't imagine what it did to the players on his own team. Also, he led back to back Cups, with back to back Conn Smythes, the 2nd after their head coach died, largely similar to Yzerman's 2nd after Konstantinov's tragic accident. We all love to hate on the Penguins but Lemieux was an absolute stud. That's true of Mario in the 80s... Watching Gretzky taught him a few things and he gave up the fast food and cigs after a few years.

Fight Night III Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Tampa torched us this week.
-
It's tough for me to include the guys that never won a Cup as captain amongst the all-time greats.
-
I doubt anything happens - but they would probably be looking for actual roster players and not just picks.
