The arrogance and condescension that comes from the top of the NHL is downright infuriating. Anyone who dares question an action of an official or ref is pretty much a slack-jawed yokel who obviously has no idea what they are talking about and deserves to be outright laughed at. I'm always amazed at the self-control of anyone interviewing Bettman, to not simply punch that sneering, smug "you're all idiots" look off his face.

I'd be surprised if Iginla was dealt, but I do believe he could blossom with a different team and a change of scenery.

I'm forgetting who it is who has dogged me for pointing out the exact same thing several years ago, but there is no question, as a good team in the East, you have an easier schedule (not even factoring in travel time).

Sabers and Blues have had the most success despite never winning a Cup. Philly has been the most successful of the long-drought teams.

Over the past few years the Wings have had the greatest record against elite teams and one of the worst records against bottom-of-the-barrel teams. Probably a combination of all teams playing 'up' against the Wings and the Wings infuriating habit of playing to the level of their competition.

I hear you - and that's what I do in regards with the Tigers, Pistons, and Lions - I'm not a huge fan so I'm not that interested when it is a crummy product. But I am a die-hard Wings and hockey fan - I gladly went to games in the 80s and still bought merchandise, and my father did before me all throughout the 60s and 70s. So I can't fault Leafs' fans for still supporting the team and sport they love, and they do deserve better - better than what Chicago/Pittsburgh and their whole 5,000 still loyal through the ugly years fans deserved. But do I feel sorry for them? Hell no! The Leafs and their fans can wallow in misery for another 45 years for all I care. I personally can't wait for Detroit to catch and pass them in total Stanley Cups.

Duh. If my boss is constantly bitching and breathing down my neck over areas my job presides over - you're damn right he is going to influence my actions, and he knows it. You've got the head of on-ice officials receiving explicit rants from his boss about the actions of his refs in regards to specific players - what sane employee is not going to do something about it? The idea this is merely an isolated incident is pretty hard to swallow.

Pretty lame - I actually like the noise it adds to big moments, but the guy who does it all game is definitely annoying. How about security actually uses judgment?

Wings need to trade for Greg Campbell, now. Datsyuk + a 1st, while Campbell's value is still low.

Yes, unless it happens to be on Savard, apparently The responses crack me up -- Campbell completely shrugs it off with a Palin-esque "Aw Shucks!" and the NHL with the typical "Our emploeyees are the best in the world, beyond reproach, despite their actions (unless they try and unionize)". Not even a token "We will investigate this matter in full" ... And never speak of it again once the attention dies down.

Malkin is a superstar and not a registered full-time goon, so of course he is incapable of sending a message or instigating a fight. Zetterberg is less of a star so clearly he started. He was lucky to not get suspended, in fact.

It is funny when things like this and the NBA reffing scandal come about - and you see evidence things are actully •worse• than what the conspiracy theorists rant and rave about. It's pretty sad - I've always believed Campbell was a biased tool with no sense of consistency - and hey, looks like I might have been giving him too much credit! I mean, we're now talking about him maliciously abusing his power to single out individuals - extremely disturbing stuff, and I hope it continues to pick up steam and is investigated.

I don't play fantasy hockey (at least not this year), but I do care about end of the year voting and love to see Wings' players fare well.

That goal actually pisses me off - Wings get lazy and Howard's stats take a dive.
