Red Kelly is an honored number in Toronto (they only retire #s of fallen players), and there is absolutely no reason why he should not be hanging from the rafters in Detroit. I'm silly about these things, but it actually pisses me off when I am reminded of it. Detroit had one of the best defensemen of all-time for over a decade in his prime, and he was a vital component to 4 Cups... yet his number is hanging in the rafters in Toronto.

Giguere is not close to done, IMO - he has had some pretty awful personal turmoil the past couple years but is still only 33.

It's not going to happen, but yes... I would take Giguere over Rafalski 100% of the time (on this current team). Ericsson or Kronwall would be bumped up to play with Lidstrom (to concentrate on offense) and I am of the opinion Janik is better than Lebda and Meech defensively -- even better if Lilja gets back.

Rafalski has been looking awfully pale recently, maybe he'd like to work on his tan?

Leino looked better in the last game, but like the rest of the team -- could not finish his chances. Hopefully Zetterberg can stop trying to do everything.
