Think Bettman is getting his birthday wish.... ?
-
Ozzie actually had no shot on that one.

Off Kronwall and in.

I knew this one was gonna be a scorcher...

Just like that! KEep it up!!!!
-
s***! Crosby won the faceoff....
-
Yup - it's the only downside.
-
Good - Samuelsson in. I have a feeling we will need offense this game.
-
Malkin and Crosby were getting about 4 extra minutes of 5 on 5 ice time - whereas that time is usually put towards the PP where they do a lot of their producing.
-
What clearly needs to happen is every play and call needs to be personally reviewed by Gary Bettman and given his thumbs up or thumbs down.

Yes, if Draper retires, his salary still counts towards the cap. Either trade him or keep him and hpe he can still contribute. Probably Holland's worst signing, IMO -- Draper should have been on a year-to-year basis.

I can tolerate a dirty captain - and Messier was amongst the dirtiest, but his tenure in Vancouver makes me lose most respect I have for him as a 'leader'. What a ******.

Penguins fans have been talking about a "return to the clutch & grab of the 90s" -- but let's be honest, most of them were not even fans at the time of the dead puck era (or out of diapers yet) so they have no clue what they are talking about. Games at that time could get brutal to watch - we're not simply talking about getting in the way of another player or light taps with the stick - we are talking about guys literally hitching a ride onto players with their gloves and sticks, hitting players no where near the puck and outright bear hugs. As "loose" as these games have been called, they are 100 times better than what went on during the dead puck era.

This "award" infuriates me -- what a joke. Messier, alone, literally picks the winner - what??? This better never be considered a major award. Messier isn't even amongst the best modern day captains, let alone one of the best in NHL history.

Draper, like Maltby, usually responds well after he has been sat a game or two -- I think it is a pride thing, but I excpect good things out of him if we see him in tonight.

I'm feeling pretty confident. Things were stacked pretty well in the Penguins favor these first two games: Datsyuk out; less rest than the Pens; back-to-back games; Lidstrom and Ericsson just back from injuries -- and the Penguins still lose both by a combined score of 6-2. I don't care what lip-service Pittsburgh is paying to the media, that has to be pretty damn demoralizing, and that frustration certainly showed at the end of each game. The Red Wings could not beat a Pronger-less Ducks in 2007, and I thought that was their kiss of death... they needed to take advantage of that. Penguins just blew two games they should have at least split.

I tried to stick with NBC, as that is what most will be watching -- but it just seems to "Hockey for Dummies" to me, and CBC takes a better look at the plays and strategies without 'dumbing it down', so to speak, to the extent that NBC seems to. It's clear they are just speaking to different audiences, and I match up more with CBC.

I have heard all year that revenues were up. I am guessing they will agree to up the cap by 5%, but probably not 10%.

Wings are way to focused on preventing, that they are not getting to the net offensively - too many guys back.
-
Heh. that segement was actually pretty cool...

That forum is about 100 times better than this one: http://www.thepensforum.com ... which was created by and for bandwaggoners. Literally the most offensive pro team board I have ever seen.
-
Ultimately, for me -- Detroit just beat the Pens 3-1 missing their Hart and Selke candidate.

big kill... come on !

heh...fleury still suffering from nerves - drops his stick

What does Max Talbot have in common with Brian Campbell?
