Look what happened in the NBA with the official who was betting on the games he was working. Sometimes professional leagues don't care what their officials do as long as the outcome is beneficial to the bottom line. Don't tell me that the league couldn't find a pattern in his games. If you think that the NHL front office isn't pulling for the kid that they have made the face of hockey, you have to be crazy. I have a real bad feeling about how the calls are going to go.

Melrose is still a d-bag. Even if he hit the nail on the head with a portion of his statement, ESPN should be ashamed that he is their hockey guy. That says a lot considering how bad ESPN is with hockey.
-
Melrose said it was a bad call? Maybe it was a good call; Melrose has less credibility than Eklund (e4)
-
Can you imagine how bad the pissing and moaning will be then?

Then go watch Mixed Martial Arts. Hockey is not all about fighting!. It is part of the game, not the entire game. The game isn't decided by who has the most uppercuts landed in a game, or the most hip checks delivered. I'm am by no means saying that those things aren't important but they aren't the only things. You need to pass, shoot, block, and skate to win. This team is exciting to watch and they have won eight in a row. They are 10-2 in the playoffs. Don Cherry says something on ESPN and the some run like sheep over the edge of the cliff.

I saw Maltby take pre-game skate on Saturday. I got to JLA at the end but he was out there and skating well. If he come back into the lineup, who comes out? No matter who is in the lineup, the most important thing for the Wings to do is skate hard to get back on D, put rubber on the net and crash the crease. Good things happen to teams that play hard for 60 minutes!

I just heard. I didn't post I wanted to see how long before the board exploded. 62 seconds!! :-)

Pang is one of those guys who picks just to be different from the other guys so if it does come true, he can say he is right. When he is calling a game, I think he does a great job because he is talking about what he sees. When he starts breaking down a playoff series he becomes that guy in the NCAA pool who picks a 14 over a 3 just in case it happens. All of this talk about Colorado's top two lines is getting a little ridiculous. Forsberg, Sakic and Smyth have all missed substantial time this year with injuries that lag. The slipped out of a series that they were outplayed in. Minnesota wasn't that good of a team. I'm all about giving opponents the respect that they deserve, but you can blow too much sunshine up their skirts.
-
It actually makes me feel better to know that Pang picked the Avs. I would hate to think that his thought processes are sensible.
-
I don't care who we get. It's bad karma to pick one team over another. Look what happened to Nashville. I'll take whoever we get and be happy with it.

Making the playoffs is not criteria for the Heart trophy. It is "given to the player judged to be the most valuable to his team." I challenge anyone to offer proof of any other player who has been more valuable to his team than AO. He has carried his team and put up crazy numbers while doing it. For those of you who think Malkin should get it, give me a break. What does he bring to his team that Ovechkin doesn't bring to the Capitals. If you are going to say a playoff spot, that means that you think that Malkin is the reason that the Pen will make the post season, once again I say, give me a break! Alex has more Goals, more points, a higher +/- ( on a worse team) fewer PIM, more PPG, more GWG and a higher ATOI.

Wings GM says Chris Chelios likely to be back next year
LIDDYGIBBY5 replied to zombiewing's topic in General
Chelios is starting to become a liability on the ice. Watch him closely when he is on the ice. On defense, he gets caught out of position way too frequently and has to be bailed out by a forward. On offense he rarely gets the puck on net, hell, most of the time it gets blocked and the play goes back the other way. There comes a time when this franchise needs to say goodbye. There are a lot of young players that need to be developed and that won't happen until there are enough roster spots for them. Sorry Cheli, I love you, but it is time to hang them up. Boy that was a painful post to type! -
We got one of the pieces that we needed and left one out there. We didn't give up too much for Stuart and I think he will help the team. I would have liked to have seen a forward, but there is no guarantee that any of the other GM's out there really wanted to help make the Wings a better team. I'm sure they all asked for the world for a forward (Filp and a 1st if not more) Overall I give Holland a solid "B" He made the team better with out hurting it in the future.
-
No matter what you would have been unhappy. Either Holland gave up too much to get someone, or he sat on his ass and did nothing, or he just got crap. You would have had a negative comment no matter what happened. Why don't you go be a Ducks fan or something.
-
Why?
-
They gave up a ton for him. Wings were smart to let that one go.
-
Damn
-
No kidding. I've already have the phone near by and have dialed 9-1........
-
Thanks Couldn't pass it up
-
Really? Really?
-
I'll reserve judgement until they do.
-
Skip it, this is more important!

Back up Goalie is the second best job in the world next to back up quarter back. Lots of $ for not doing a damn thing.
-
Why would he tell the world his plans. Mis-information is the way to to go!
