Anti climatic? Are you against the climate, I have to admit, I hate the snow too. I think that you mean anti climactic. I hate to be that guy, but that is one of those things that people need to know. Like when people say I could care less, if you could care less, then just care less. Me, I couldn't care less.

Lets see what happens when our top two D lines aren't injured, not to mention Cleary getting healthy.
-
The price went up, I heard a bump and a beer.
-
What makes you think that Columbus would want to trade with in their division and why would Vancouver want to trade a player to a team that they could face in the playoffs?
-
So you are of the opinion that Holland needs to make a trade just for the sake of making a trade? Or would it be better to make a trade for the sake of making the team better?
-
Fedorov may be getting older, but he will force teams to respect him and that will open up ice for both he and Ovechkin.
-
TSN confirmed Fedorov is a Cap
-
This team has played a similar number of games as the rest of the team in the league, I guarantee that conditioning isn't an issue. Cleary brings it every night on both ends of the ice. He makes plays that end up with the puck in the net at one end and keeps it out at the other.
-
This streak started when Cleary went down, and I don't think it is a coincidence.
-
All that game told us was if half of the team can't play because of injuries they will be in trouble. Show me any team that will flourish with the kinds of injuries that the Wings had.
-
TSN.ca just reported Lang was also pulled off of the ice edit: for a 6th rounder
-
Don't expect much from the Wings. Holland wanted to leave some room if necessary, but he isn't going to give up the farm for a rental. Expect a small trade if anything.
-
I was under the impression that it was defense that you couldn't get enough of, but I'll take goal scoring second.
-
So many people on these boards say that the Wings need to get tough, need more guys who will do the dirty work. When there is a rumor of a guys who does the dirty work, everyone talks about how much they suck. I personally don't like the idea of Lapointe coming back, but people on theses boards are just too much. "I want a tough, gritty player! Well not that tough gritty player!" If you think that the executives of this team can just snap their fingers and the best players in the leagues will take a discount to come in under the cap you are crazy. You take what you can get and build from there. Sometimes that means taking a player who might not be an elite player, but is a player that can help the team.

Jokinen brings something to the table that the Wings really need, second line scoring. Yeah his contract is $5.25MM, but if you are going to get a rental , the rental might as well not be crap. Campbell is young and only 1.25MM and could really help the second PP unit. Tucker can hit and grind a play 9 mins a night and not do much more than that all for the exuberant price of $3MM.
-
Give me a break, Tucker??? This is what TSN says about him Assets: Always comes to play and forechecks well. Provides an energy boost for his team every shift and has a decent set of hands. Is absolutely fearless. Flaws: Has suspect skating ability, which has prevented him from becoming an all-star at the NHL level. His agitating qualities can at times hurt his own team. Career potential: Third line winger. He's tough, I get, it but really? Do want want to give up Justin Abdelkader and Kyle Quincey for a guy who makes way too much money for what he brings to the table? This era is about developing talent not trading it away for crap! If there is going to be a trade we should be talking about names like Brian Campbell and Olli Jokinen!
-
The reason Nick won't win is because the league seems to think that the NHL has casual fans like all of the other major professional sports leagues in North America. They believe that young studs are the way to go. Their philosophy is to keep cramming a few names down the throats of those casual fans ( that don't really exist) in order to make them die hard fans. Crosby and Ovechkin are the only players in the world who matter to NHL and sports writers who cover the NHL because it is an assignment they hope to use as a stepping stone.

I think that we should make at least one trade before the deadline. I have trouble thinking that sending away someone from the active roster would benefit this team. I'm not opposed to sending a prospect or two and a pick for a depth D-men or top six forward. The only player that I would even consider moving would be Kopecky, but it would have to be a lights out deal. If it ain't broke, don't fix it; supplement it.

Lemieux (Claude) Tootoo Pronger Domi Roenick
-
Let's get it out of the way now. (I hope it works that way)
-
I never said that I want Fedorov back, Don't put words into my mouth. I don't want either of them.
-
I'm not opposed to trading him, I am opposed to trading him and a high draft pick for a player who is on there way out. Foote is a player that this organization should stay far away from. If he is traded, it should be for someone that has value now, not three years ago.
-
Why does it look like the wrong guy is stoned?
-
The last thing this team needs to do is trade a young talented player like Meech and a high draft pick for a 36 year old who is on his way out. Give me a break :puke:
-
Lets face it, this team isn't young. Older players are more prone to injuries and fatigue. Kronwall hasn't played a full season yet, the injury bug has already done some biting. I wouldn't mind seeing a second line type player, a tough guy with a little scoring touch, or some depth on D. (Or all three) When a team thinks that they have everything that they need, that is when they start to believe what everyone is saying about them and they think that they don't have to try hard because they are supposed to win. I wouldn't go out and make a trade just because, but I also wouldn't sit back and wait for someone to come calling either.
