Nothing is better than watching that POS get a pounding. During the lockout year, I went to a Griffins game in GR and watched Tootoo get pummeled by Bootland. I heckled Tootoo so much that game that he was challenging me after the game. He stood on the ice and motioned up into the stands at me that he wanted to go. Since I wasn't going to go down and beat the hell out of him, I love to watch others do it.

How do you feel about an illegal defense penalty like they had in the NBA if the played a zone? Is it possible to force teams to not trap?
-
I can't argue with wicked fine defense, but I can argue with nuetral zone trap. There is nothing more boring than watching two teams who trap. I love watching hockey, but that garbage makes me want to :puke:

I think that the PA would be all for it. GM's would give higher salaries because now they would be able to actually trade a high end player if the season is a wash instead of being stuck with them. I wish the NHL had half of the NBA's numbers.
-
Bad trades, good trades, or even trades. I really don't think that it matters. If the trade didn't happen who is to say that Fleishmann even scores any goals or even makes the Red Wings. You never know what is going to happen, looking back on trades like this are really pointless because of all of the intangibles that we can't even start to think of.
-
You make it sound like Holland revved up the flux capacitor and new that Fleishmann would score those goals and maybe more and the draft pick would be a possible big time player and still went ahead with it just for something to do. Hindsight my friend, hindsight.

I wish that that I had the time in my life to argue an issue like this as if it mattered. If you don't like the team names or mascots or the leagues that allow them to exist, boycott them and hurt them where it hurts the most. Their bottom line. Spending your time trying to convince a few people on a hockey discussion board who are just trying to kill sometime between lunch and the end of the day is going to get you far.

Are you serious or making a joke? Any links/ quotes/ proof?

There was a time when Hasek, Broduer, Roy, Luongo, Sawchuck, Esposito, etc. hadn't started a game. Things turned out pretty well for them. Give the kid a chance before you decide that he can't hack it. If the league went by your hasn't started can't be good theory, who would we be watching??

You make it sound like this is a bad thing? It is a great thing that we have so much depth on defense. Talent begets talent. If we have injuries, we have solid replacements. If we don't have injuries, we have trade bait to make depth at different positions. Most importantly, if there aren't injuries, we have stability. There is nothing like having a core of players that like each other and grow relationships year after year. That is how you win championships! As these players grow to love the team and the area, that is when you also get hometown discounts from players who want to win with their friends more than make an extra $1M.

How can you say it wasn't a dirty hit!!?? He lined him up and crushed him from behind. He never tried to hold himself up, he extended himself and finished the check all while being squared up with the name and number on the back of the jersey. The only thing he didn't do was leave his feet, thank God for that because he probably would have killed him. What can come from a check like that besides an injury? Jones saw he was in a vulnerable and didn't slow down at all. If it wasn't dirty, why did Jones come during the intermission and apologize and say that he doesn't play like that? It was a dirty cheap shot from a franchise that has decided that they are going to crush everyone on the ice whether it is clean or not. They don't care if the injure someone and most games they look to!

http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/lak071021.html Looks like the Kings are looking to move someone. The site names Dustin Brown or Alexander Frolov. It looks like the want a golaie but might also want a d-man. With Quincy, Meech, and Kindl in the system, would it make sense to move someone for either of thses two guys?

I wouldn't be too surprised to see Nick give up a little bit of pay to help make the team more competitive. That is just the kind of leader that he is. There is no reason for him to and it shouldn't be expected of him, that is why I think that it is a possibility. $6M per for 2 yrs. Isn't there some kind of law about spreading Eklund's crap??

I love the idea of Cleary playing with Dats and Z. Not to mention Homer screening for Sammy. I couldn't agree with you more on this one. Plus, the way Babs switches up lines during the game, it is very possible to see the the ZDH line out there for a few shifts a game and on the PP. It's not like if the line gets broken up that they can't play together from time to time.

Why would I ignore you? This board is just like life, I don't pay enough attention.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=AikY...p&type=lgns According to Yahoo sports and I also saw on ESPN's bottom line that it is not day to day but he is out indefinitely. This might be a little more serious than thought.

Who wants a slow, out of shape forward who can't communicate with a majority of the players in the league? Lets flip the tables, what would you give up for a slow, out of shape forward that no one else wants?

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=220752&hubname=nhl I try to stay up on new hockey tech, but this was news to me. I wonder how they will decide who gets to try them?
-
Then give them Kronwall.
-
I have no doubt of that in my mind. Feds was loved more as a Wing as he is hated now that he has left.
-
The players association has no say in how much a player makes. They can agree to or reject any contract without PA approval.
-
I'm not trying to argue, but what is your criteria? Is it just players that put up stats that should be retired?
-
I know this is off topic, but I don't think it warrants it's own because it is so close. What about Draper, This is his 14th season with the Wings and is hoping to sign for three more years. He was a huge part in the Left Wing Lock that helped win three Stanley Cups. He has a Selke and has been one of the most dedicated, hard working players to ever wear the winged wheel. Why not?

has a referee or linesman ever fought a hockey player during a game?

sirdrake1? Now we have a copycat of sirdrake? Look at the date of when this joker joined, well after sirdrake made his stellar appearance. I smell an unoriginal troll -
According to Spector http://www.spectorshockey.net/rumors.html Carolina is looking for a defenseman and Columbus is looking for a center. Who would you send and what would you want in return?
