I was talking more about the shot to the head than a player running down the sideline and pitching it. I have to give you high marks in trying to make my words seem absurd by inserting yours as if I said them. As I said, by rule it was a clean hit. All I said is that it is the kind of hit that the NHL should look at. Maybe a change in gear is needed to stop injuries from happening in ordinary situations. I don''t even know why I even try with you Eva. You would argue that the sun rises in the west on a daily basis just for a chance to hear your own voice. (or the click clack of your keyboard)

It was a clean hit, but I think it's the kind of hit that needs to be re-evaluated by the league. There is to much head hunting. Kopecky put his shoulder pad right on Carle's chin. In the NFL that kind of hit would have been a suspension. I don't think this board would be singing the same tune if that hit was on Rafalski.

Are you serious? That has to be one of the most amazing things that I have heard. Talk about knowing who pays his salary. It's that kind of attitude that I wish all of professional athletes showed! I'm glad he is a Wing!

Quincy would be picked up as soon as he hit the waiver wire. The Wings would just be throwing him away if they tried to send him to GR!

Who ever has the better camp and preseason. If it is Howard, I have no problem. If it is Conk, that is great too. Just as long as it is the player who played the best.

I suppose that it could be worse. There primary jerseys aren't anything too special either. It's hard to come up with a good logo when your mascot is wind, rain and clouds.

I have to say that I am not a happy camper. If we lose a young and talented player to waivers or a trade where we don't get fair value because teams know we are between a rock and a hard place with the salary cap I will have to question the decision making of Holland. We can't lose the future because of the greatness of the past.

Goalies don't tend to just drop off suddenly when it comes to mechanics. Osgood is mentally strong. If a goalie goes from great to terrible in one off-season it is because they lose their edge and I don't see Ozzy doing that unless he gets injured and his mechanics fall to pieces.

If he were a great goalie he would be getting time in Det. If he was better than the other options, he wouldn't be playing in GR.

I met Gordie Howe when he was signing autographs in the late 80's (I was probably 7 or 8) in Kalamazoo at a K-wings game on New Years Eve. I went home and asked my old man all about Gordie, hockey, and the Wings for about 3 straight weeks. It was all we talked about. Isn't it crazy how well you can remember some things.

It would be the second hockey related cry in my life. The only time so far was when Vladdy walked in for the raising of Stevie's number. I can't see Stevie walking away to get the job he wants. He could have walked away plenty of times for various reasons when he was a player and he didn't. You don't just change the cloth that you are cut from. I believe that he is committed to this franchise no matter what.

Maltby should not have a guaranteed spot on this team let alone wear an "A." I have to say that it wouldn't break my heart to see him getting fourth line mins is about half the games this year. The rest of the time he can wear a suit in the press box and work his ass off at practice.

Not backing down in scrums and laying down some justice to protect star players are two different things. Don't confuse the two.

I love Franzen as much as the next Wings fan. He can get a little feisty from time to time and he won't back down from a Mexican standoff, but if he has to fight 15 -20 times a year, we are in trouble. Who is out there that can be invited to camp if we can't figure something out with Downey or Mac? Is there a contingency plan?
