That was the beauty of the Lambeau Field $295 Million renovations. Same historic and sentimental feel, with modern day luxury. Win, Win for Packer fans. Pre-Renovation: Post-Renovation: And the new $130 Million seating addition, jumbo-trons and further upgrades will be done for the start of next season. That will make Lambeau the 4th biggest in the NFL.

Am I the only that read this as: "A Renowned Mediator wants to bring Crack (the drug) to the NHL Talks between the union and the owners." ???

Datsyuk having fun in KHL while dominating, but misses Detroit.
NeverForgetMac25 replied to stevieisthebest's topic in General
Nice to read one of these articles given it feels like forever and a day since the last one. Here's hoping he stays healthy over there in the meantime. However, I'm sick thinking about the time we're losing while he's still in his prime. They're not just robbing us of another NHL season, they're robbing us of one of the few seasons we get with Z & Dats still in their prime. -
^ I don't know why this thread has been so quiet. Likely due to the fact that the Lions haven't lived up to expectations this season. Week 10 will officially go down as the QB-Concussion week. Cutler, Smith and Vick....all down for the count. The Bears loss is a huge confidence boost to an already confident Packers team. Now all they have to do is hold serve with Chicago the rest of the way and win at Soldier Field. The tie-breaker will go to GB as a result.

I love hearing all the analysts referring to the AFC as the Junior Varsity conference. Classic! Just look at anyone's power rankings and its beyond hilarious. 6 of the top 7 are all from the NFC. Another classic I read was one guy talking about how he wishes two NFC teams could play for the Super Bowl so it might actually mean something this season. His contention was even though we're only 7 weeks in, there's realistically only 7 teams that have a shot at winning the Super Bowl: Green Bay Chicago Atlanta NY Giants San Francisco Houston New England (Outside chance) Just look at the pathetic AFC......only 3 teams with a winning record!

I've just flat-out had it. I fear for the future of North American sports as lockouts have become the norm upon the expiration of any given CBA. As much as it pains me to admit, I don't see negotiations and deals getting done anytime before the last minute or later going forward in any of the big 4. Great job NA sports....way to piss on the fans who actually make all of you your money!

I don't know if any of you watched the Packers-Rams game yesterday afternoon, but what Aaron Rodgers did on his final TD pass, no one in the world should be able to do. My jaw simply dropped the moment Cobb hauled in that perfect pass. This is the type of stuff that makes him the best QB in the world: Fast forward to the 2:30 mark. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1379456-packers-vs-rams-full-highlights-and-recap Here's what a sportscaster had to say about it: Sort of like the absurd throw Rodgers made to put the game out of reach on Sunday. It's one of the most outrageous throws you will see a human being make … even if there wasn't a defense covering the play. His 39-yard touchdown pass to second-year wide receiver Randall Cobb was like something from a carnival act. The laws of physics shouldn't allow someone to throw ball the way Rodgers did as he was scrambling to his left and was forced to throw against his body.

I love it! That's more than likely 3 straight losses. However, if things stay the way they are now I'll be looking for a split between CHI & MIN. That being said, its LGW vs. Hiei tonight! Sorry Hiei, but I'm with LGW for the duration of the day. I don't see the Lions pulling it off, but it should be a fun game.

Understandable. The packers right now are simply maddening. The way they played last night is the type of team they are capable of being night-in and night-out, yet they fall on their faces in the second half last Sunday against f****** Indy! They're a young team, but a veteran one at that and those types of games shouldn't happen. Then they head to 5-0 Houston last night and embarrass the Texans in front of their home fans. It's so frustrating. The silver lining is the season is still young enough for them to capture a desirable seed heading into the playoffs. I'm loving the fact that 5 of our last 7 games are divisional, so it will iron itself out so long as they keep their foot on the gas. The Vikings simply aren't for real and I'll be curious to see what Chicago does in about a month when they start having back-to-back tough matchups. Chicago has proven themselves and I'm curious to see how they handle those tougher teams.

Hudler removed from KHL team, suffers injury

C'mon Hiei....every team gets good and bad breaks from time to time and Chicago gets screwed no more or no less than GB. If you honestly don't believe that, I have to call out your rose-colored, homer glasses.

The Saints are about as much of an 0-4 team as the Cardinals are a 4-0. Their record doesn't even come close to painting the entire picture. Besides, did you watch the game yesterday? Another blatant P.I. penalty in the end zone that went uncalled gave them one score, Harrel having to come in and play a single down on first and goal (which he fumbled) when Rodgers got poked in the eye and a down by contact call that was beyond atrocious on a kick-off. That game was nothing like the score indicated.
-
Getting mad about it just gives credibility to the situation. I didn't watch a Football game last night, it was a circus. I don't care what happened every single play before the final one....that single play determined a winner and a loser, and they got it wrong.
-
Talk about looking past a team, the 49'ers embarrassed themselves yesterday. I can't say I'm not thrilled about it. With a win tonight, the Packers are back on top of the NFC North and will hold the tiebreaker against CHI for the time being. Lastly, holy hell the Saints are in shambles. There's no way that veteran of a team is 0-3 simply due to losing Payton. Their other offseason loses seem to be looming huge.
-
Well, that didn't last long. Bears now in 4th place given the tiebreaker scenario. I was beyond furious with the effort the Packers put out Sunday afternoon, but this practically makes up for it. This was the type of defense I was talking about in my OP. If they can keep it up and the offense does its normal dominant thing, it should be a "Super" finish to the season. Sidenote: Can't wait for the Lions-49ers game this weekend.

Signed Wings sign Carlo Colaiacovo to 2 year deal, $2.5m cap hit
NeverForgetMac25 replied to datterberg1340's topic in General
Colaiacovo will work. He'll chew up valuable ice-time for us. -
For how boring the preseason tends to be, I'm quite intrigued by the headlines the past few weeks. I can't believe there's going to be 5 starting Rookie QB's this year. That's nuts! The biggest story of the 5 is Russel Wilson and the fact that former Packer Matt Flynn who's due $10 million this year ($8 guaranteed) will be riding the pine come week one. Couldn't be more ecstatic to see Benson run the way I knew he would. He makes our offense beyond dangerous and it was so nice to see the #1 Defense play to the level they're capable of. I'm curious to see what, if anything Detroit does in their backfield given the recent developments. With Smith banged up and Best out through the first 6 weeks, they'll be quite one-dimensional on offense without nabbing someone else.

It sure as hell matters to me. Obviously, he needs to make the decision that works best for him and his family, but I'm not about to go as far as saying it does not matter where he plays, because it does. Obviously, 99.9% of us will be fans of his regardless of when he takes off for Russia....but that doesn't mean I wan't see it in 2-years' time.

Seriously? You honestly believe this to be true? P.S. It's "couldn't" care less.

Very depressing.

Reminder: Personal attacks, trolling will not be tolerated
NeverForgetMac25 replied to haroldsnepsts's topic in General
As has been mentioned before, us mods cannot see everything that goes on in every thread created here at LGW. While the majority of us tend to look at most threads in the GD, we're just like anyone else in that we frequent the ones that interest us and tend to shy away from those that don't. Again, if we miss a personal attack or flame-bait, *report it* and we'll take care of it. We understand tensions run high, especially given the recent UFA events, but we continue to do the best we can to stay on top of things. So again, if you feel someone breaks a forum rule....report it. -
Could Wings still make a move on Weber this year?

No, that will not be enough. Not even close. -
Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild
NeverForgetMac25 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
My hope is given the developments today that Suter is done waiting on Parise to make up his mind and in a sense, forcing his hand. If Suter signs with Detroit, all of a sudden we become even more attractive than the 90-100 million other reasons we're currently offering Zach.- 487 replies

Still no decision from Suter. Speculation abounds.

I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. Besides, I think you're light on what Abdelkader might be making next year. -
Parise Watch [update x2]: Red Wings OUT of Running
NeverForgetMac25 replied to Dominator2005's topic in General
Hence, why I said "the need for a bonafide scorer isn't lost on me." I'm just ensuring people have the facts here in regards to team scoring. I obviously understand the need you're talking about, I'm just making a point. The fact of the matter is that Suter is beyond the number 1 need on this team at this moment. Adding him will help band-aid the losses of Lids and Stuart, but his addition alone won't be enough to replace them both. If we miss out on Suter or one/two of the other higher-end defensive talents while adding Parise, it puts the Wings in a more dire situation than the other way around. Again, I understand the need for a Parise-type, but I've all but given up hope that he's coming to Detroit. If Kenny is gonna add some elite scoring talent (which I believe he will in the form of a Ryan or a Nash, etc.), its gonna be via trade.
