No love for the hometown guy as of yet...

No doubt, the Sharks are the scariest team in the league right now. I'd like to avoid traveling to California at all in the playoffs, but if it means staying in the Playoffs bring them on. We are something to fear as well.

NHL looking at a 56.3M Salary Cap Next season?
Majsheppard replied to YoungGuns1340's topic in General
QFT on both accounts. Though odds are that Malone isn't going to jump ship, even though the Wings are attractive. The Pens are too right now. -
I swear I read this on Freep.com the other day.... Like the exact same words, Deja Vu? What I like is they have chemistry, and everyone has questions so I'll take the team with Chemistry. San Jose worries me, but we got the tools, we got the talent.

Thank you, I was going to start this thread but usually get yelled at for any glib comments. I feel like I've watched more Pens games then Wings. Get used to it because I don't think its going to change anytime soon.

NHL looking at a 56.3M Salary Cap Next season?

Brunnstrom will make more then that. He isn't getting a league intro contract as he isn't technically a draftee. I thought I recall the numbers around 2.3-2.5 million for him, though I could be wrong... -
NHL looking at a 56.3M Salary Cap Next season?

Plus, may I remind everyone. EVERYBODY gets that extra cap space. If you ever did the bagel experiment in an economics class you would know that just means higher prices and the same amount of bagels, or hockey players as it were. -
NHL looking at a 56.3M Salary Cap Next season?

You guys don't seem to see that it isn't so simple and straight foward. The benifit isn't really all that concrete, especally next year. Guys like Franzen and Zetterberg are going to be free agents, not next year but the year after. Meaning they are not going to take up any more or less cap space next year, but the year after they will take up whatever we sign them to. This means that if the cap goes way up, they have recourse to ask for more money. The same piece of the pie they deserved before is now more, and therefore that cap space virtually dissapears. True next year as of right now, assuming they raise the cap that much, means we will have 17 million bucks to spend, but Johan will prob get a million the following year more, and Zetter 5 million at least more the following year. That could be upwards of 7 million more on just the pair! That money can go fast, if Stuart resigns that could be 3-4 million bucks. Brunnstrom could be 2-3 million, see how that just rapidly goes away? Who knows what other costs could come about.... Obviously it sounds great, but I just don't know how exactly much it benifits us to raise the cap. Odds are the money will go out the door all the same, and focus will turn to money coming in the door. That means all those ticket prices everyone likes to complain about will prob go up significantly. -
I still haven't recieved my dap.... Oh well, glory for him and much of it.

COME ON WINGS WAKE UP, YOUR KILLING ME FANTASY WISE!! BURY THEM!!

Why does NHL.com think Kronwall scored a few minutes ago?
-
Hate to say it, but as you get older things get horrible. Lunch Box is the tip of the iceberg. Yeah... I wish they would give a lunch box just for the simple fact that life sucks and tickets are expensive. At least they give a good show, thus life temporarly doesn't suck. Good job Wings, a net gain!

I cannot stress this enough....... Detroit MUST win on Sunday! Because the Oilers beat the Avs, Nashville has a shot to claim the 8th seed making them our first round opponent. Chicago couldn't beat them to do their part. If Detroit losses to Nashville, we might have to play them. I HATE Nashville, otherwise known as Classlessville, with a passion. I want no part of playing them, they are dirty and could beat us up. Even worse would be having to watch at least two games in Nashville where their fans are morons who chant stupid, stupid things at odd times inbetween horrible country music and drunken fights. They don't deserve a team, let alone a playoff team. Please Please Please beat them on Sunday, even if that is the only win for the rest of the season. Out of all our possible first round opponents, Nashville would be the worst. They are my east favourite team, and our divisional opponents have played us well this year.
-
Now we are lined up to face Nashville and are coming off an OT loss, we need to beat Nashville and play them like it is the first game of the first round. Everyone knows what team I hate the most.... Go get em eh!

The amazing invisible Darren McCarty!!! ...not like thats really a surprise or even bad. No mistakes and no ground shaking positives either. I can't wait till he gets in gameshape and gets his fair share of ice time, I want to see what he can do. I also would like to see Cleary on the second line and Franzen back up front. Odds are Cleary is going to need to roll with at least Val, so lets rebuild that chemistry!!!

I say why mess with perfection. Although I would like to see a test run of not reseeding the teams after every round. It may make no difference in the grand scheme, but definately could open the league up to being an office pool type thing. That would be great for bringing in new fans, get them to jump into an office pool. All honesty, that is why college basketball is so popular. The viewership explodes for the tourny. With reseeding it is nearly impossible to have brackets. Plus it doesnt seem to be a great benifit to us, we tend to get beat by hot teams who upset someone and reseeding puts them on us. Beyond that, no more teams, no change in games played or format or anything.

All the games came out the wrong way tonight. I am bored without hockey on tv.
-
nearly all the games went the opposite of how i wanted them to, pending on the Kings Ducks game. Also Fantasy wise this night was a throw away.
-
Serriously why is it in this day of age we cannot see highlights online for this stuff!!! Youtube or something!!
-
umm, its all optimisim for me. I mean there is anxiety sure, but its exciting. They win way more then lose so why be pesimistic?
-
Well death is no good. Maybe thats why it never worked it was too shocking. Believe it or not but I offered to take someone on here to a game once and she outright said no. Names will be witheld to protect the innocent. On a serrious note, my cousin made bead bracelets back in the day. I am pretty sure I still have the one she made me. It says Red Wings. Now she lives in the Kings backyard and complains how she never hears a single peep about hockey.

Will a scout/fan count? lol. You would be surprised how little my pickup line "I have Red Wing season tickets" worked. YES I FINALLY WON A THREAD!!!
-
Hehe, I am all about Franzen.... I just realized that they should play Everything Zen by Bush when he scores a goal. It is a pretty good song with a rock beat! Everything Zen Everythings in! lol. Kinda like I can see Clear-ly now the rain is gone.... lol, what other ideas for anthems can you think of? Just a fun little thread...
