Timmy Thomas is the only guy this year that really surprised me. Maybe Tobias in Atlanta, but thats just because its Atlanta.

Does anyone know if this is the first ever father/son suspension in one shot ever?

Hey, playoff beard smayoff beard. I know for a fact that many of you ladies will end up having kids. When you do, you will get a minivan or whatever and have to get up at 5 am to drive the little ones out to the rink for hockey practice. I think that more then makes up for playoff beards.... Without you who would play in the playoffs?

I just hate the fact that we will have to play Anaheim/Stars and the Sharks if we are the first seed and go to the Conference finals. That just seems like a punishment for getting the presidents trophy. I pray that Vancover/Calgary/Minnesota gets seventh seed, steals the first round and we play them instead of Dallas/Anaheim. Let the Sharks prove their meddle by taking out an elite team. Last year the Sharks, not the Ducks, knocked us out of the playoffs by wearing us down.

Carcillo Avery and Simon will be my checking line. LOL Faceoff: Avery wins the faceoff, Carcillo drops the gloves and jumps on the nearest player. Avery grabs a dance partner and Simon pulls a patty Roy Jr, charges the goaltender, pronger stomps him and picks up a 50 game suspension That is how my team would get 300PIM in one game.
-
Yeah tell me about it, when was the last time you saved a roster spot for someone who has 8 goals and 9 assists... lol Zach Parise may have just cost me a prefect 4 teams in the finals of my fantasy head to head format. -6 on the week, gj. Carcillo held up his end my team has 60 PIM this week, and this is with Lidstrom and Pavel on the team.

What an ass. Of course what is he going to learn from that dick of a father. I really hope he never makes it.

Franzen for MVP!

Wings GM says Chris Chelios likely to be back next year
Majsheppard replied to zombiewing's topic in General
This goes in the no duh section. In the cap world, in his position of being old giving him a league minimum contract is no risk. Honestly he will keep doing this until he gets hurt, or spends the whole season as a healthy scratch. I think 2 more years on the roster. -
They totally can afford him next year, the year after is the question. Zetter needs an extension and I am hoping he just takes the exact same contract Pavel did. If he does, then the Wings will add another 4 million or so onto the cap the year after. I suppose with half of the players getting raises, the belt will have to tighten depending on the cap. Stuart should really take a slight pay cut and stay here because his stock is falling like an eagle making love in the sky and he will prob find money out there, but will he find a good chance to repair his career? I would advise him to take a two year deal at let us say 2.25 million.... That way he could stick around, learn grow with a team, and put up some numbers that would make him a top FA when the two years are up. Who knows, perhaps at that point the Wings could use him even more and he would get paid 4 million, or maybe LA will be a good team again... Stuart seems like he will be a very reliable Dman as he was in the past. On the right team he could be the number two guy. He has got nearly everything, and with some more confidence and experience he may become that player scouts were drooling over about 8 years ago.

I don't know if that is the slogan, but its marketing. Trying to make people go to the Joe. I am going to be really disapointed if we don't sell out our playoff games.

I love the Wings. Hate the Preds. I will say this prob after every single Nashville home game I am forced to watch. They are the most annoying, classless fans that I have ever seen. Damn rednecks irritate the hell out of me. Why oh why did the NHL stop them from being sold to the guy who would have delieverd the team from such squaller. Other things I know. Franzen is a top six foward. I am amazing at fantasy hockey, and can play a homer style because our boys are the best ever. whistles are annoying, and I would have made that jerk swallow it. And of course, congrats to Pavel for being so great.

Which hand? If it is the off hand, amputate. LT did it, so you should too!
-
Khan via Mlive Look the best analysts in the game... the actual players have faith in us. So I suppose we should as well.

Grrr.... These Wings are killing my fantasy teams! These Refs are killing my Wings! These Pretzels are making me thirsty!

If Washington misses the PO, it should be Nabokov IMO. The sharks, while a powerhouse, have been inconsistent all year. The only solid factor that kept them in the playoff hunt was Nabokov. With Campbell on board they have regained their offensive form and gone nuclear. All of my goaltender votes go to him, and I think he is equally as important as Malkin, Brodeur, Luongo, etc. I could very well see the Hart trophy becoming the pittsburg trophy as they seem to be the new posterchild team for the league. Ove, Nabokov, Pavel, Brodeur, Luongo and deserve it more then Malkin. Just because Sid went down for a month and he remained very good doesn't make him MVP, what about all the time Sid and Malkin helped each other. That is the same rational you can use against Pavel as well.

Dude, Sharks should be number one in Power Rankings right now, and I will even conceed 2 to NJ. The ducks shouldn't be higher then Detroit when they lost Pronger to suspension and Detroit just got back on track. I mean if they were previously ranked higher I would say well, it makes sense Detroit is going to overtake them, yet this isn't the case. Perhaps they are giving them a power boost for Burke lobbying to keep Pronger from getting the suspesnion he deserves. That dick gets all the breaks.
-
Well apparently the Ducks aren't the favourites in the players eyes. Perhaps that is because we have kicked the crap out of way more teams then the Ducks. Or maybe they just asked Simon 70 times or so and skewed the results....
-
I was hoping they would try Meech as a forward. It makes sense because he showed excellent offensive skill with the puck during our injured strech, and we simply have too many quality Dmen in the pipeline for Meech to actually contribute there. Let us hope we just found another winger!
-
I hope the Oilers make the playoffs just to screw that bastard. Wouldn't it be great if they made 7th place and moved to the second round! Burke would get the 22nd pick. I can dream...
-
I don't always see eye to eye with him, but he sticks to his guns and knows the game. I hope he stays our coach for his entire career, and he wins many cups. Cheers to Babs!
-
Oh he does deserve credit. He has a shot for sure. Yet I don't really think he is a slapshot man. He needs to be in closer then shooting out on the Blue line for that powerful wrister of his. I personally think if he were on the Fourth Line during even strength he would provide alot more production per time on ice.
-
I don't understand why we still use him on the power play. We have plenty of players who can fill that role better, I mean Stuart has experience at this, and he at least knows how to play defense if he needs to. Sammy doesn't have an amazing slapper or anything, I just don't get why Babs takes the risk. I just hate to see us lose a playoff serries because he screws up and we allow a shorthanded goal.....

PHX at VAN 10pm Eastern. This is a huge game as a clean win for the Canucks will put them 7 pts up on the yotes for 8th place and only 9 games left for each team. I am excited so I decided to paste this link in case you have no other way to watch it. The game starts at 10, here is a feed. I of course are pulling for the Red Wing wannabes from Jobbing.com arena. Bingo bango bongo, they just got one past Luongo!(hopefully) Thoughts?

Hey I still like the guy, I just want him on the fourth line. Oh and now Zetter is suffering as he is the carrying the second line. Franzen is helping but Sammy is definately hurting production.
