I would kill to see Mursak get top line time with Pavel tonight, instead it looks like Cleary and Bert... I just get the feeling Mursak is getting ready to break through to another level.
-
I hate to say it, but him being healthy might be the biggest threat from them outside of the pipes.

Tonight is an epic game for us for statistical revenge. (posted this in the thread about the stats website.) San Jose wins tonight (in regulation) they have a 74.7% chance at making the playoffs. An overtime loss is 65.1 Wings in in 60 minutes, they have a 55.5% chance of making the playoffs. Seeing how much they wreck us in the playoffs... I want them to miss the dance. Let's go Wings. WIN TONIGHT!!! Big games tonight which affect the Western Conference playoff picture directly. I hope Colorado, Tampa, Columbus, and of course Detroit win all in regulation. I always ask for a lot, but would be happy with a Wings win and a Colorado win.

Only 50 million outcomes where the Wings win the division out of 1 billion possible permutations. 5% chance is statically impossible.

Other thread. 83.3% chance of playing nashville.

Website says there is a 83.3% chance the Wings will play Nashville... ugh....

This team would be better off trying to find different ways to win and new leadership than have to be saved by Pavel... that being said thank God he is back.

I love Thursday nights on NBC. You could put hockey on every night of the week but thursdays. Anyhoo... Please anyone with WOW, go request NHL Network. I refuse to get Comcast because I hate their company and have had major issues with them in the past. NHL Network is great... and now it is a must have. So if you have it, do me a favor and just get on them about adding NHL Network.
-
All that needs to happen is ride this out. The team will respond as players respond individually.
-
Best news ever. ABOUT TIME! I hope this gets enough people bitching so they put the NHL network on more carriers. I don't have NHL network and it makes me sad.
-
I believe the opposite... Just as long as he is back in the first round I am not worried. The team could really use the time to figure out how to be good without him.
-
I honestly wanted Franzen to be the only one of these guys on our team next year. The Bert signing pissed me off, and it just feels like on any given night two of them can be overcome by the team... I would like it if we only had one of them and I think Franzen is the best to keep in the long run.
-
I like that the most likely way for us to make the central is if St Louis does .500 the rest of the way and we do .750 hockey... Yeah that isn't happening.
-
The team is falling apart, but I don't really care that much. I think it would be better to figure out how to win with the pieces right now, and then attempt to integrate the all stars later. This is the ugliest thing since me in a dress! hahaha.

I dont know, it seems like since that Columbus game, everyone is cheating the stats.
-
My favourite, is statistically... our game tonight against the ducks affects our chances of wining the cup by .2% or a .4% swing. Statistics are cool, but if you don't understand... they aren't saying anything more than probability based on strength and mathematical history.

If you Could Change Five Outcomes in Hockey History
Majsheppard replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
I can honestly say my first thought before reading anything more than the title was in 2010... but not the final. Instead I would rather change the earlier round between Nashville and Chicago. The infamous Hossa no-boot. If they just kicked him out of the game like they did to Ovechkin earlier in the year, he isn't there to score a game winner. I would have loved to see Nashville win that game, and if they did I say with 95% certainty that every subsequent series would have been different. That stands out to me as one of the worst blunders in NHL history. -
yep, total agreement. Besides. He is going to be a slow grower and he will need to bring it all together.

Again, all the sources I read say... cap is going down.

The reason The Wings shipped Mike Commodore
Majsheppard replied to Wing Across The Pond's topic in General
The ONLY point is that by no means do I think they moved Commodore for the purpose of signing Danny. They didn't need to do it, and therefore by that logic alone you should not infer that Commodore was moved for him. Plus all the evidence that the Wings were talking to teams about adding players after the Commodore trade also negates it. I have no problem with the article for talking about adding Danny. If you read my postings at all you'd know that. I am simply saying there is no reason to make Holland out to be some sort of genius for this. If Commodore was still on the team, Holland would still be trying to sign Danny. You have to admit that, and everyone has to see that. I have no high horses, but I do have some common sense. -
Alex Radulov returning nhl playoffs?
Majsheppard replied to PredsFanTheBayouState's topic in General
I hope it tears the locker room apart. -
I am not disagreeing necessarily with your statement... nor am I necessarily agreeing with it. I just want to point out the irony of your statement. Also a possible new meme. Says, "I really hope its true...hockey needs less of these prima donna douchebags." has an avatar of Don Cherry.

I really think both the Blues and the Wings will be steered towards meeting each other in the playoffs by the man pulling the strings of the refs. They would love to reignite that rivalry.

The reason The Wings shipped Mike Commodore
Majsheppard replied to Wing Across The Pond's topic in General
I really hate to beat on this blog, but honestly this is feel good Red Wings stuff. If Danny is going to be a Wing, the Commodore trade had no impact upon this. The writer doesn't even act like this to be a revelation, he just is giving Holland credit for making a shrewd move clearing space for him. Space that didn't really need to be cleared. He could take Chris Minard's contract spot no problem by signing a deal for next season. Okay, enough negative. This kid won't help us replace Lidstrom, but it will soften the gap we have between Smith and Ouellet in the farm system that is currently only filled by Almqvist. This doesn't mean Adam or Danny make the team ever, but it gives us more options and would help us from making desperation signings on d in the future. (COUGH COUGH E) He will come in and have a seriously good chance to make the team within a three year window. NOT this year.
