When will Ralfalski be back? That question is more important to me. However there is nothing wrong with this call and nothing wrong with this streak. Besides me pulling my hair out that is. We needed hardship to strengthen the team, now lets pick it up and get the first seed locked up so we can rest Zetters back!!!

The only player who I consider true second line right now is perhaps Franzen, and by no means is that a constant. Fil needs to remain on the team, but Hudler most likely will be somewhere else at some point, so if he is traded for something that will help I won't complain. We have so much upside in the farm that I really don't mind trading some of our players as much as normally. Let us not totally get a new 2nd line as we all know it didn't work last year. I would have loved to get Stillman and Commadore and be done, but that excellent trade was all Ottawa. Now I wouldn't mind to see Prospal for Hudler.... and I am sure more other stuff to be named later.

Serriously, how many times has a team put together an amazing cast and did nothing with it? The Kings for example, adding Blake and Stuart to go with Johnson. Makes a pretty good defense that many people would take on paper. They don't play well together though! On the otherside, anyone in the league would take Dats, Zetter, Homer, and Lids of course. Yet how many people were willing to take them to start?? That is how we got them, they didn't look so great on paper. Yet put them in a system that fits them, give them leadership, and pair them with people they have chemistry with and they are tops in the league. Burke is no genius because the moron has Neidermayer and Pronger fall in his lap. Real hard to piece that together. Of course that makes them tops in the league. The guy hasn't done anything to the team for the long term and is adding more people that don't make sense, just because it looks good on paper. Blake and Stuart could just as well be Sundin and Bertuzzi when you look back on it. I simply say that Holland has built a team that can win it all now, and the worst thing he can do is make a bad trade. To think the Wings are nothing, that they are going to lose to the Ducks just because their roster has big names on it is absurd.

Yeah I want a link. I heard from many places he wants to be a contender. He loves LA for the fact he has a house there and the weather and all those reasons. Cheli does too, yet he plays in Detroit, and will continue to do so. I have heard that he loves California before, the two of them have nearly half the NHL over in the offseason for workouts on the beach. I highly doubt he wouldn't stick with Detroit. He won't sell his house either way so I don't think that makes him a shoe in for the Ducks. I still don't see how they can AFFORD HIM!!

That would be the scariest defense ever. Lids, Ralf, Blake, Cheli, Kronner, Lebda, Lilja would be pretty intimidating too. Honestly Blake was the reason Roy was worth half a damn in Colorado. He is most likely in his prime the second best defensive presence in the league. He definately is still in the top ten, and he would make any team better. I am not going to say give up the farm for him. I will say if he comes here I will welcome him. I know it would have alot fewer question marks then a Bertuzzi trade. btw him being on the Ducks makes them alot crappier IMO. Damaged goods with no reciept.

What a pesimist.... We are the best team in the NHL in most statistical measurements and a ***** to play. If you think we are bad because of a five game losing streak, well then I'll buy you a plane ticket to go tell the president the sky is falling chicken little. The Ducks have a better roster then last year? hahahahhaha If Bertuzzi, Schneider, and Weight are better at this point in their careers then McDonald and Penner then they are better on paper. I can remember when the Wings were better on paper for having Lang, Calder, and Bertuzzi on the second line. The Lions were better on paper for adding Calvin Johnson, and Mike Williams. Oh wait they weren't. Jagr is a magnificant player, a true offensive all star, add him to a team and your basically drinking hemlock. I don't care how big a name you add, if he doesn't fit he won't help. If you look at our team on paper, like many writers did. You would bet we wouldn't make the playoffs. They have been predicting our downfall for years. Chemistry, system, leadership. These things are intangible and count for alot. The Wings are in no short supply. The Ducks are a dangerous team, but to say right now they are a better team then us is really just simplification.

I don't know why you would pass on a top tier player, for a washed up center who we have plenty of and be willing to trade two of our young guns for him? Sundin is a bad idea. We won't pay for him, and we won't get him. I am not saying Blake will be a Wing or not anyways, I am just saying this trade rumour to the Ducks makes about as much sense as us trading for Cory Cross again.

He was quoted as saying he won't trade the high picks they got from Edmonton being stupid for a rental. He will still make trades for a rental for the right price. A 30th pick for winning the cup wouldn't look so bad for someone. Blake is not a rental player guys, I don't know why everyone thinks he is. He wants to go somewhere good and stay there for the rest of his career. That is why he is only waving the NTC for someone like San Jose, Detroit, or the Ducks. Couldn't disagree more, we should have beaten them last year in the PO but didn't because of various small reasons. We have their number this year, only way they can beat us is if we are injured or the refs give them every effing call. Chemistry is more important then anything, a trade does not make a team. We have alot of chemistry. The Ducks don't have the chemistry they had last year, and Burke seems intent on making it worse.

I don't know, sure its great to honor your own. Think if you were the other team though. You want to play the game! They should be doing that stuff before the game even gets close to starting. 14 minutes late. I know there is nothing going on for like 15 minutes before the game starts. Problem solved. Actually I really see him Drake and Downy being our, so you think you can ruff us up line?? So when we play the ducks and game three at their building when they are playing dirty, we can go out and drop the gloves. I still bet money that he is the first healthy scratch on most nights, but he will be signed after we make our trade. 110% promiced. If we sign him right now we might have to put meech on waivers.... at some point, depending on the IR situation. Hartigan, Kopecky, maybe sammy, hudler, or Matt may be moved as a part of a deal. I bet one of those openings will go to the DMac attack.

We all knew he would be signed on the trade deadline day to be an offical member of the team so he could play in the playoffs if needed. This changes nothing but perhaps the willingness to move another foward in a trade. Kopecky it was nice knowing you.

I am told that NY isn't working out the way he wanted. And they are talking it over. It seems unlikely that that will happen. Yet it was kicked around, the cap works out they have the cash to make that happen. It won't though unless some things including Boyle do not work out the way they want it to. The Lightning simply want to maintain their cash in two top centers a defensemen and a goaltender instead of another top forward. Prospal is also on the docket for trades. They would rather keep him though. Check the numbers, they both have a small amount of wiggle room. It is possible.

No actually, he is looking to sign in Detroit reguardless according to Chelios. I think he is of the cailber of player that he could play 2-4 more years for us. Provided he doesn't get the big money. I think he will be a wing next year if we move Quincey and will make less then 4 million for us.

I serriously think that Meech, Quincey, Hartigan, a first rounder, a second rounder, and hudler may go for Cammalari and Blake/stuart. I really think that Blake would be the better route, but Stuart would work on our team. Plus Blake would return to us, Stuart will not.

I agree that we need more Defensive help, also he will make the move after what happened last year coupled with the fact that it seems Defensemen are not the top target of most teams at the Deadline. I find it far more likely that we add a top four defensemen then a topsix forward. I think we get two kings to join us at the deadline.

Well it should only be 3 out of four games lost.... Effing refs. Two of the losses were us underplaying to the level of our crappy opponent. Tonight we simply let Nashville go to the net, poor defensive play from Lidstrom is so rare I highly think its worth being scared about. The sky isn't falling. We need to win though so we can rest Z down the strech so anyone saying they are meaningless losses is wrong.

I think all this talk of Detroit not being interested is Holland not getting caught up in the game. Just as long as he isn't traded.... I keep hearing his name tossed around, they are far more likely to move Helm then Emmerton. I put him in the do not dare trade category. Quincey, Kopecy, Meech, Hartigan, Elias, Hudler, Samuelsson and picks are all I am willing to part with.
