Good news, our win against the Ducks has countered the BS win by the Blues in the shootout. We are back on track, we just need to get at least a point in the Nashville game. Of course if we beat them I will breath easier.

Very true. I already have a post up about our schedule, and I had us losing this game I beileve. Guess what? We still can finsh first overall. If we don't it really doesn't have any implication on the postseason. Babs is right, most important thing is getting healthy. Zetter and Cleary need to come back as they both bring a bit more energy and two way play to the game. Only thing that worries me is how Lidstrom is slumping a bit. The great thing about the Wings is that it doesn't matter really what round pick we get, we will maximize it. The complete opposite of the Lions, where we need the higher picks because odds are we will screw those up too. It is nice to have a solid scouting staff.

Yeah they also feature Steven Cobeagle the Eagle. You have to be careful about having a good game against that team, you may end up on the wrong end of the Patriot Act.

Yeah I am more interested in Semin, who we could have had in a trade for Pavel. Of course I'd rather have Pavel, but we shall see if he is on our team come next season. Semin's game just erased Lids terrible game last night on my fantasy team, now I just need Turco to have a bad game or not play and I am on to the next round.

NO NO NO. I hate states getting more then one team, none more then Texas. Screw that. I would like to see Seattle and KC get the teams. Winnipeg is more likely then Seattle though, as is Las Vegas. I do think that 32 is the magic number, I cannot see any more then 32 working for hockey and I do think they should follow the NFL model. Best thing about two new teams in the west would be trying to move Chicago and Detroit East and having two divisions holding the six.

I think everyone thinks that Washington is the place he will end up. If he does I will be livid. Especally because I wanted to trade him there for Semin before the season started. He better come back or I will have a new most hated player.

Okay my thoughts on the game. 10 of them, how convienent. 1. Lilja was responsible for both goals against us. I am not one to bash on one player, but he really didn't do much today. 2. Cheli, you cannot get a holding the stick to put us down two men. Your the most vet guy there is, play like it please. 3. Ozzie looked great, I have no worries about our goaltending situation. We got two of the best. 4. Our team has little energy, but big bursts. I cannot worry more about the drive without Zetter, Franzen, and Cleary. We need these guys back. 5. Erat goes down, I couldn't be more happy. 6. Tootoo is going to hurt someone, I hope it is himself. 7. Calder might be the best pickup I have seen outside of Smyth on the Isle. Lang is playing way better, and its Calder you should thank. 8.These refs suck. 9. Bert has to come back strong just so he can smack those punks around. 10. I will never go see a game in Nashville. Terrible country music, stupid "me too" fish throwing that makes no sense, stupid fans who boo nothing, some crazy jerk with a whistle they wouldn't stop blowing, and the ugliest people you ever saw in a hockey rink(those jeresys can only be blamed for some of it too!!). I would agree with what he says. It is the fact that they have become even more finesse based that has driven off many casual fans. I myself love the game of hockey, so I apprecate the Wings for playing it at such a high level with such consistancy. I just wish they were the a bit more complete at times, which is why I will always pick an Orr or a Howe as the best player over a Gretsky anyday. They played a more complete game and where entertaining for more then one reason. Like it has been said in this thread, the fans are complacent. They see the Wings as a team that will play this skill style of hockey and can be ignored until the playoffs, when its for all the marbles and the game is more inline with what Don thinks is the best type of hockey.
