Kyle Quincey traded to Detroit in 3 team trade (TBL & COL)
Majsheppard replied to Tim.D's topic in General
I would have rather had neither personally. Or just picked Quincey back up as a free agent. I am wondering if Stuart is headed to California at the deadline... I have a really ******* borderline cheating concept in mind... Yeah, it sort of is like wanting to be the person to make this thread. -

Ironically, this could lead to us making the exact same move with KINDL!!!! Watch us have to spend a first to get him back in four years time when he is a very good player because we decided there was no room for him. Just get rid of Commodore 22, he sucks way more than Kindl in the long run. -

Okay you need to explain, because this wiki link most likely has already been changed back. -
Kyle Quincey traded to Detroit in 3 team trade (TBL & COL)

Okay that is bulls***. WE KNEW. He played in the playoffs that one year right before we let him go... in 2007 and played 13 games and was an even player. The following season he got the grand rapids treatment. The tape is there, everyone could see it. I remember talking about how he looked comfortable out there. Instead of getting his chance he was shipped off because it would have cost us Meech to bring him up. Then the following year we decided to go with the seemingly more versatile and experienced Meech. They knew he was a good player, and they hoped they could sneak him into the minors. It was among the dumbest moves the franchise has done under Holland. It is easy to say in hindsight it was something that was wrong, and I know we wouldn't have gotten anything... I think we should just admit we f***ed up, and this trade is the public announcement that we f***ed up so bad, we are willing to f*** up even greater to make amends. We knew he was a solid player, and I just don't buy this as an intelligent move. Ironically, this could lead to us making the exact same move with KINDL!!!! -

That was just to get us under the fifty man contract cap. -

Honestly, this just sounds like Kindl is done in Detroit now... Also, f*** Meech for this. It is all his fault. -

Confirmed.... 1st for a guy we had free and clear a few years back... I doubt many people will be happy. -

I swear to God I was just talking about this last night at the bar with my friend. He said Quincey was nothing special... trying to varify myself. A part of a three team trade.... too bad I would rather have had Downie for that price. There has to be more to this deal... Quincey is not worth a first... I wonder if Kindl is on the move. -
He is just a troll. He has no faith, or soul for that matter. He just is here to collect negatives while being negative. Pavel really was having a Hart caliber season. He never would have won it mind you, but he was playing like an MVP.

Giving away kindl and Tatar for JVR would be a huge mistake in the long term. I think that would be like giving a way a first and a second round pick for a first round pick in the same position a year earlier. That is to say, Tatar could end up being JVR's equal, and Kindl still strikes me as a number four dman on most teams and a third pairing guy on the Wings. More importantly, Emmerton and Mursak might get benched, but if you think they can add someone and bench them... you are wrong. No only do they have to expose someone to waivers off the main team, but they have to move a contract. I just get the feeling we will regret any trade this year. The costs are too high and the team is too good already. There is just no world beater out there to trade for, so I say you listen to the phones and just wait. What people tend to forget is that if we were to wait until next year, past free agency even... we could have so much more in terms of an idea what we will need for long term success. I do look at our prospects right now and see a lag in forwards of about 3 years and a lag in defensemen of about 5-6 years to being NHL ready and abundant. Goaltending is about 4-5 years off as well. Yet if we sit on it and wait, and plug the holes for just three years... we start to have the best young guns in the game again. You want to make that lag 4 or 5 years for forwards or thin out the d in 4-5 years???? to add Moen or someone now that is an insignificant addition? The best team in the league should stay as such, and next year they can add in free agency anything they want, then try to keep together it the following year, then they will have tons of pieces to fiddle with whatever they need to... five years time the team will be much different, but the foundation will be in place. I see, if we don't make bone-headed trades like Ouellet for Moen... in six years a new young core that will be solid with unforseen superstars amongst them powering them through.
-
I wouldn't take Moen right now for ANYTHING. He brings nothing to the Wings. NOT A DAMN THING! I am sick of hearing people suggest this would improve the team. I will gladly take Moen after we lose Bertuzzi because then he can fill Abby's role while Abby attempts to fill Bert's. That is different, but if you add him now you lose someone off the roster and Moen would more likely destroy chemistry than improve the team.
-
NO! NO! NO! I don't believe thsi because Ouellet is having a huge year and Moen adds NOTHING. It would be like trading some stock for five dollars, odds are you will net far more by sticking with the stock. I really hope this is over.
-
I agree, losing Stuart will be rough. I don't think a trade now will be the best way to fix that. I think if the Wings can get a hold of Suter... it will make losing Stuart acceptable.
-
Ruh-roh. Forget hockey... I hope, if guilty, he never plays again.
-
Oh there is Mike Milbury to ruin my thoughts that this is a classy broadcast.
-
It is absurd how much better this broadcast is with Ken Daniels doing the play. I estimate it is 74 trillion 800 and four-two times better.

Now Joey is looking to take Howard's job too

You can't score lacrosse goals in the NHL, they are illegal. Even if they weren't... you couldn't because you would get lit up if you tried. I mean destroyed. Having watched this, I wouldn't consider this a lacrosse style goal. Good goal. Pavel will do it soon. Okay, after seeing this goal with decent quality, he did lift that up and throw it like a lacrosse goal. It would not have counted in the NHL or NCAA and practically every league in-between.

Who Could be Dealt at the Deadline?
Majsheppard replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
BTW, how much longer until the yearly Jack Johnson to Detroit rumor shows up? Oh btw... anyone know what stage of a free agent E is??? I heard something interesting I didn't fully understand on Satellite Hotstove... If he is a stage two and not a stage three... Like Carter is... then the NTC doesn't count until he hits that level. I wonder if there is some sort of no trade loophole. I AM NOT SUGGESTING HE WILL BE TRADED OR SHOULD... I just want to understand this a bit more. -

Unless someone becomes available that we can't see being traded now... There is no way to fix these things. We just have to hope that the kids have developed enough to get through the teams that play us tough. I just hope someone can stop Pavelski this year. -
2012 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 27th, 3:00 PM ET
Majsheppard replied to NeverForgetMac25's topic in General
So you the saw this guy tweeting that bull on twitter?!? I have to say AGAIN. Our D is the strongest part of the team now, and to try to improve it means we lose either a forward or a defenseman when we are playing better than anyone else. It would be FOOLISH to make a move, and depth is not needed. We have Smith, Exelby, and Janik all ready to step in if we need them. How many d can be traded away before we realize we don't need anyone, especially at these crazy high prices for so-so players. Everyone who wants us to make a trade, better not complain if Kindl becomes Quincey or Emmerton becomes Fleichman. KENNY, JUST SAY NO TO DEPTH TRADES!!! Unless you can pull off a true top six goal scorer who will shoot first and skate... just walk away. I truly believe our options are so few and the prices are so high, we can't be involved in the deadline this year. We need to let the farm grow, and the youngsters on the roster prove themselves. Free agency the next two years has too much potential and too much on the line to risk our own adding pieces now. -
Yzerman asks Pavel Kubina to Provide list of teams
Majsheppard replied to Ozzie30's topic in General
Don't forget Janik and Excelby... None will be playing for GR... so wtf. WHY DO WE NEED ANYTHING BUT A SCORER!??! -
I have no where else to put this right now, and I think it sort of speaks to how the Wings are great. Panger tweeted this... Looking forward to #NBC GAME in Detroit Sunday on HDIA. Working alongside Ken Daniels as Sharks will try to stop the home ice dominance. I think the fact that we also have such a great set of announcers... when these guys could do a national job, it shows the level of the sport here. I think people around the country and world recognize this.

I have been talking about this for a while, but someone is getting the ball rolling. Good News, it looks like expansion may be coming. As someone who lived in Seattle once, I know these folks love their sports and have a population capable of supporting an NFL and MLB franchise along with a NBA team (if that team doesn't suck for a long time...) This leads me to believe they can support a NHL team, especially considering they will receive the Columbus treatment. The Columbus treatment meaning that a bunch of fans from Detroit kept that team alive by traveling to see the team, and the Nucks will do the same. Maybe even the Sharks fans too...
